ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1)
LONDON BOROUGH OF MERTON
(COMMONSIDE EAST, CR4)
(TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026
1. The Council of the London Borough of Merton hereby give notice that to facilitate electrical connection works in Commonside East, CR4, they intend to make an Order, the effect of which would be to temporarily restrict vehicular traffic in the said road.
2. During the works, no person would cause or permit any vehicle to:-
(a) enter or proceed in Commonside East, from the common boundary of Nos. 529 and 531 Commonside East to the eastern boundary of No. 533 Commonside East; or
(b) wait, including for the purpose of loading or unloading a vehicle, in the length of Commonside East specified in sub-paragraph (a) above.
3. During the works, no person would enter or proceed on the pedestrian path linking the length of Commonside East outside No. 533 Commonside East to the length of Commonside East outside No. 535 Commonside East.
4. The restrictions would only apply during such times and to such extents as would from time to time be indicated by traffic signs prescribed by the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.
5. Nothing in the Order would apply to:-
(a) any vehicle being used in connection with the execution of the said works; or
(b) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or a police community support officer in uniform; or
(c) any vehicle being used for police, fire brigade or ambulance purposes, subject to site conditions.
6. The relevant length of Commonside East is a cul-de-sac and an alternative route is not applicable. Pedestrians may proceed using Mitcham Common or via Beech Grove, Dahlia Gardens and Chestnut Grove.
7. Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction imposed by the Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.
8. The Order would come into force on Monday 9th March 2026 and it is expected that the works would be completed by Friday 13th March 2026. However, the Order would remain in force for a period of 3 months should further works be required.

(GOODENOUGH ROAD, MAYFIELD ROAD, TREVOR ROAD, WILLIAM ROAD AND WILTON CRESCENT, SW19)
(TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026
1. The Council of the London Borough of Merton hereby give notice, that to facilitate lead pipe replacement works in Goodenough Road, Mayfield Road, Trevor Road, William Road and Wilton Crescent, SW19, they intend to make an Order, the effect of which would be to temporarily restrict vehicular traffic in the said roads.
2. During the works, no person would cause or permit any vehicle to wait, including for the purpose of loading or unloading any vehicle, in:-
(a) Goodenough Road, both sides, for its entire length;
(b) Mayfield Road, both sides, for its entire length;
(c) Trevor Road, both sides, for its entire length;
(d) William Road, both sides, for its entire length;
(e) Wilton Crescent, both sides, for its entire length.
3. Any designated parking place situated in the roads or lengths of road specified in paragraph 2 above would be suspended.
4. The restrictions and suspensions would only apply during such times and to such extents as would from time to time be indicated by traffic signs prescribed by the Traffic Signs Regulations 2016.
5. Nothing in the Order would apply:-
(a) to any vehicle being used in connection with the execution of the said works; or
(b) to anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police officer in uniform or a police community support officer in uniform; or
(c) to any vehicle being used for police, fire brigade or ambulance purposes, subject to site conditions.
6. Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction imposed by the Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.
7. The Order would come into operation on 1st March 2026 and it anticipated the restrictions would be in place until 1st July 2026. However, the Order would remain in force for 12 months should the restrictions be further required.

(UP RIGHT OF WAY NO. 75 – WINDSOR AVENUE TO MERANTUN WAY)
(TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026
1. The Council of the London Borough of Merton hereby give notice that to facilitate tree works along Public Right of Way No. 75 and weir gate works, they intend to make an Order, the effect of which would be to temporarily prohibit any person from entering or proceeding in Public Right of Way No.75 between Windsor Avenue and Merantun Way.
2. The restrictions would only apply during such times and to such extents as would from time to time be indicated by traffic signs prescribed by the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.
3. Nothing in the Order would apply to: -
(a) any person engaged in the execution of the said works;
(b) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or a police community support officer in uniform.
4. Pedestrians affected by the footpath closure should proceed by way of Windsor Avenue, the Wandle Trail and Merantun Way or vice-versa.
5. The Order would apply from Monday 2nd March 2026 for a maximum period of 6 months. It is anticipated that closures would occur during the periods from Monday 2nd March 2026 to Friday 6th March 2026, from Friday 19th June 2026 to Tuesday 30th June 2026, and from Friday 21st August 2026 to Wednesday 2nd September 2026.

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Merton, on 11 February 2026, made the above mentioned Orders under sections 6, 45, 46, 49 and 124 of, and Part IV of Schedule 9 to, the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended and all other enabling powers.
2. The general effect of the ‘Electric Vehicle Charging Points’ Orders will be to:
(a) designate parking places for electric vehicle charging at the locations listed in the Schedules to this notice;
(b) provide that the parking places will operate at all times, unless otherwise stated;
(c) specify that the parking places listed in Schedule 1 to this notice will be available for fully electric and plug in hybrid electric vehicles only, for up to 12 hours, without charge, provided that any electric vehicle is connected via a charging lead to a lamp column upgraded to enable electric charging at all times while it is left in a parking place. Electric vehicles having left a parking place for electric vehicle charging will be able to return after 4 hours have elapsed;
(d) specify that the parking places in the controlled parking zones referred to in Schedule 2 to this notice will be available for fully electric and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles only, for up to 12 hours, provided that during controlled parking zone operational hours the applicable charge for the relevant controlled parking zone permit has been paid with respect to the vehicle and that any electric vehicle is connected via a charging lead to a lamp column upgraded to enable electric charging at all times while it is left in a parking place. Electric vehicles having left a parking place for electric vehicle charging will be able to return after 4 hours have elapsed.
3. The general effect of the ‘Parking Places Amendment’ Orders will be to remove lengths of parking place in the lengths of roads listed in Schedule 2 to this notice and make amendments to accommodate the introduction of parking places designated for electric vehicle charging.
4. The general effect of the ‘Cycle Hire’ Order will be to remove an e-cycle hire parking place in Green Lane which will be converted to an electric vehicle parking place.
5. A copy of each of the Orders, which will come into force on 23 February 2026, and other documents giving more detailed particulars of the Orders, including plans which indicate the roads or lengths of road to which the Orders relate, can be inspected during normal office hours Mondays to Fridays, until the end of six weeks from the date on which the Orders were made, at Merton Link, Merton Civic Centre, London Road, Morden.
6. Any person desiring to question the validity of the Orders or of any provision contained therein on the grounds that it is not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or that any of the relevant requirements thereof, or of any relevant regulations made thereunder has not been complied with in relation to the Orders may, within six weeks from the date on which the Orders were made, make application for the purpose to the High Court.
