Essex - Multiple Temporary Road Closures and Clearway Restrictions

Order 2026
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order:
To temporarily close those lengths of road in the Borough of Basildon & Borough of Brentwood as specified in the schedule.
A temporary ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping’ restriction will be introduced on both sides of carriageway on the above lengths of road for the duration of the closures to facilitate the works. Signs will be installed indicating when the No Waiting restriction will be in force.
“The Essex County Council (Basildon Borough) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019” will be temporarily amended to include the temporary ‘No Waiting at Any Time’ restriction and suspend any existing parking and waiting restrictions on the above lengths of road only. All other restrictions and exemptions contained in the aforementioned Order and Amendments to that Order shall remain in force.

The works being undertaken will take place within an 18-month period from 5th February 2026 exact dates will be specified on one.network. The roads will be closed to facilitate each phase of works and then re-opened to the public. Access will be maintained for emergency services. Diversion routes will be signed at each location and residents will be informed of the dates of each phase via letter/leaflet drop and advanced warning signs on the road.

Description
From the junction of Southend Arterial Road Off Slip Road From A127 To A132 Westbound to the junction of Southend Arterial Road On Slip Road From West Mayne To A127 Westbound a distance of approximately 8480m.

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Victoria Avenue, Rayleigh in the District of Rochford, from a point approximately 100m north east of its junction with Twin Oaks Walk for a distance of approximately 40m in a north easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 24th February 2026 for 4 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EC30080089015 – UK Power Networks). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new service works are undertaken by UK Power Networks.
An alternative route is available via Victoria Avenue and vice versa.
The Order came into effect on 5th February 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
