(Footpath 3, Layer De La Haye) (Temporary Prohibition of Use) Order 2026

Further to notice: Under section 14(2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended), which commenced on 11 February 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close Footpath 3, Layer De La Haye, in the Borough of Colchester, for its entire length from High Road to The Folley.

The closure is scheduled to commence on 16 February 2026 to 11 May 2026 or where appropriate signs are showing and weather permitting.

The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while resurfacing of the footpath is undertaken. These works have been delayed due to weather conditions.

Alternative route: The Folley, High Road and vice versa.

The Order will come into effect on 16 February 2026 and may continue in force for 6 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Colchester City) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On-Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) (Amendment No.68) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under Sections 1(1), 2(1) to (3), 3(2), 4(1), 4(2), 32(1), 35(1), 45, 46, 49, 53 and Parts III and IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended).

The Effect of the Order:

1. To Revoke: ‘No Waiting at Any Time’ restrictions

2. To Revoke ‘School Keep Clear Markings (No stopping 8:30am to 9:30am, 2:30pm-3:30pm on Entrance Markings) restrictions

4. To Implement: ‘No Stopping – Red Route Mon-Fri 8:15am-9:15am and 2:45pm-3:45pm

This Order will be incorporated into The Essex County Council (Colchester Borough) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On-Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019 by substituting map tile: TM035 227, Revision 0 to Revision 1.

5. To Implement: ‘two Build Outs’ on the following length of road.

Broome Grove

• On the west side of the carriageway, the build out is approximately 21 metres north of the northern kerb line of Chaney Road. The length is 5 metres and the height is 125mm.

• On the west side of the carriageway, the build out is approximately 44 metres northwest of the junction with Heath Road. The length is 5 metres and the height is 125mm.

Date of operation: The Order will come into operation on 16 February 2026

Application to the high court: Anyone who wishes to question the validity of the Order or of any provision contained in it on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) or on the grounds that any requirement of the Act, or any instrument made under it, has not been complied with in relation to the Order, may within six weeks from the date of the making of the Order apply to the High Court for this purpose.

(Birch Road, Layer de la Haye/Birch Park, Birch)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Birch Road, Layer de la Haye/Birch Park, Birch in the City of Colchester, from a point approximately 395m south west of the junction of High Road for a distance of approximately 300m in a south westerly then north westerly direction.

The closure is scheduled to commence on 12th March 2026 for 2 days, or where stated on a valid permit (BC411003WGLR497K & BC411002WGLR497K – Openreach). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while installation of new telegraph poles works are undertaken by Openreach.

An alternative route is available via Birch Park, B1022, Cunobelin Way, Gosbecks Road, B1026, Birch Road and vice versa.

The Order will come into effect on 19th February 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Bounstead Road, Colchester) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Bounstead Road, Colchester in the City of Colchester, from a point approximately 30m south west of its junction with Berechurch Hall Road for a distance of approximately 50m in a south westerly direction.

The closure is scheduled to commence on 9th March 2026 for 4 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EC30093062149 – UK Power Networks). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new connection works are undertaken by UK Power Networks.

An alternative route is available via Bounstead Road, Bounstead Hill, Abberton Road, Malting Green Road, B1026, Berechurch Hall Road, Bounstead Road and vice versa.

The Order will come into effect on 19th February 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Chapmans Lane/East Mersea Road, West Mersea)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order:

    1. To temporarily close that length of Chapmans Lane, West Mersea in the City of Colchester, from its junction with East Road to its junction with East Mersea Road a distance of approximately 580m.

  1. To temporarily close that length of East Mersea Road, West Mersea in the City of Colchester, from its junction with Chapmans Lane to its junction with The Strood a distance of approximately 760m.

The closures are scheduled to commence on 11th March 2026 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2396358 & EP201EH2396360 – Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closures are required for the safety of the public and workforce while signs and bollards replacement works are undertaken by Essex County Council.

An alternative route is available via:

1: East Mersea Road, Dawes Lane, East Road and vice versa.

2: Chapmans Lane, East Road, Mill Road, Colchester Road, The Strood and vice versa.

The Order will come into effect on 19th February 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Dunnock Way, Colchester) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Dunnock Way, Colchester in the City of Colchester, from a point approximately 25m north west of its junction with Cardinal Close for a distance of approximately 40m in a north westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 9th March 2026 for 5 days, or where stated on a valid permit (BC411001WGNDHW0N – Openreach). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while duct laying works are undertaken by Openreach.

No diversion route is available.

The Order will come into effect on 19th February 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Mile End Road, Colchester) (South bound only)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Mile End Road, Colchester in the City of Colchester, from its junction with Bruff Close to its junction with North Station Roundabout a distance of approximately 60m south bound only. The closure is scheduled to commence on 15th March 2026 for 1 night – (23:30-05:00), or where stated on a valid permit (EP20163525209 – Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while drainage works are undertaken by Essex County Council.

An alternative route is available via North Station Roundabout, Northern Approach Road, Mill Road, Nayland Road, Mile End Road and vice versa.

The Order will come into effect on 19th February 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Various Roads, City of Colchester) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic & Temporary Introduction of a Clearway) (No.1) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order:

    1. To temporarily close those lengths of road in the City of Colchester as specified in the schedule.

  1. A temporary ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping’ restriction will be introduced on both sides of carriageway on the above lengths of road for the duration of the closures to facilitate the works. Signs will be installed indicating when the No Waiting restriction will be in force.

The Essex County Council (Colchester Borough) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019” will be temporarily amended to include the temporary ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping at Any Time’ restriction and suspend any existing parking and waiting restrictions on the above lengths of road only. All other restrictions and exemptions contained in the aforementioned Order and Amendments to that Order shall remain in force.

The works being undertaken will take place within an 18-month period from 19th February 2026 exact dates will be specified on One.Network. The roads will be closed to facilitate each phase of works and then re-opened to the public. Access will be maintained for emergency services. Diversion routes will be signed at each location and residents will be informed of the dates of each phase via letterleaflet drop and advanced warning signs on the roads.

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order:

    1. To temporarily close those lengths of road in the District of Tendring as specified in the Schedule.

  1. A temporary ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping’ restriction will be introduced on both sides of carriageway on the above lengths of road, for the duration of the closures to facilitate the works. Signs will be installed indicating when the No Waiting restriction will be in force.
