What is happening?

Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984

Notice is hereby given that, in not less than 7 days from the date of this Notice, the Council intends to make Orders under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Bewsey Rd (Footway Closure) Temporary Order 2026

The effect of which will be to introduce a footway closure on Bewsey Rd (south west Footway) from its jct. with Froghall Ln to its jct. with Walker St. The Order will be effective from 19th February 2026 for 6 weeks. The alternative route will be via the opposite footway (north east side). The restrictions are required for tree removal works.

Duckworth Gr Segregated Footpath, Poulton North (Footpath Closure) Temporary Order 2026

The effect of which will be to introduce a footpath closure on Duckworth Gr Segregated Footpath outside properties 42 to 88 & 88 to 102. The Order will be effective from 18th March 2026 for 3 days. An alternative route will be signed on site. The closure is required to allow Openreach to install new ducting.

Fallowfield Gr, Poulton North (Prohibition of Driving) Temporary Order 2026

The effect of which will be to introduce a prohibition of driving on Fallowfield Gr outside properties 17 to 33. The Order will be effective from 23rd March 2026 for 5 days, between 9:30am & 3:30pm. The closure is required to allow Openreach to install a new service.

The effect of which will be as follows: Prohibition of Driving: Lander Cl outside properties 58 to 68; Footpath Closure: Lander Cl Segregated Footpath outside properties 59 to 60; Ross Cl Segregated Footpath at the side of 32. The Order will be effective from 16th March 2026 for 5 days, with the prohibition of driving in place between 9:30am & 3:30pm. An alternative route for the Footpath Closure will be signed on site. The restrictions are required to allow Openreach to install a new service.

The effect of which will be to introduce a footpath closure on Lander Cl Segregated Footpath outside properties 99 to 103. The Order will be effective from 18th March 2026 for 3 days. An alternative route will be signed on site. The closure is required to allow Openreach to install new ducting.

The effect of which is to introduce a prohibition of driving & clearway on A49 London Rd from its jct. with Dudlow Green Rd to its jct. with Longwood Rd. The Order will be effective from 7th April 2026 for 6 weeks, between 7pm & 1am. The alternative route will be via Lyon’s Ln, Broom Ave, Longwood Rd & vice versa. The restrictions are required for Carriageway Resurfacing.

The effect of which is to introduce a prohibition of driving & clearway on Church Ln from its jct. with Broad Ln to its jct. with Glebe Ave. The Order will be effective from 7th April 2026 for 2 weeks. The alternative route will be via Church Ln, A56 Chester Rd, A50 Knutsford Rd, Bellhouse Ln & vice versa or via Broad Ln, Grappenhall Ln, A50 Cliff Ln, A50 Knutsford Rd, Bellhouse Ln & vice versa. The restrictions are required to allow continuing works to Heritage Area reconstructing & relaying cobbled road surface, including work to improve drainage.

The Borough of Warrington (Various Roads) (20 MPH Speed Limits) Consolidation (Amendment No. 1) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Council made an Order under Sections 1, 2, 4, 84 & Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 & of all other enabling powers on 11th February 2026. The effect of the Order is as follows:-

1. The Borough of Warrington (Various Roads) (20 MPH Speed Limits) Consolidation Order 2024, is hereby further varied or amended in so far as it relates to Schedule 2 – 20 MPH Speed Limits by the addition of the roads or lengths of road detailed in the Schedule to this Notice.

The Order will be effective from 12th February 2026. Deposited documents may be viewed on-line at https://www.warrington.gov.uk/permanent-traffic-regulation-orders or Contact Warrington, 1 Time Sq, Warrington, WA1 2NT between 9am & 5pm, Monday to Friday. Any person who wishes to question the validity of the Order or of any provision contained in it on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or on the grounds that any requirement of that Act or any instrument made under it has not been complied with in relation to the Order may, within six weeks from 11th February 2026, apply to the High Court for this purpose.
