What is happening?

Proposed installation and removal of Disabled Parking Bays, Various Roads


1. Notice is hereby given that Portsmouth City Council proposes to make the following Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984; The Portsmouth City Council (Various Roads) (Disabled Persons’ Parking Places and Amendments) (No1) 2026.
2. The effect would be as follows:
a) To introduce enforceable disabled bays in the following locations.:
Amberley Road - Outside no.71 Broom Square - Outside block 49-59
Chelmsford Road - Outside no.27 Copythorn Road - Outside no. 36
Dover Road - Outside no.138 Drayton Road - Outside no.39
Eastfield Road - Outside no. 28 Fernhurst Road - Outside no. 75
Francis Avenue - Outside no. 133 Garnier Street - Outside no. 13
Green Lane - Outside no. 15 Hilsea Crescent - Outside no. 145
Kensington Road - Outside no.76 Kimbolton Road - Outside no. 24
Lynton Grove - Outside no.16 Mayfield Road - Outside no.9
Northwood Road - Outside no. 52 Ophir Road - Outside no. 79
Pleasant Road - Outside no 13 Pleasant Road - Outside no. 15
Ripley Grove - Outside no's 21-23 Tokio Road - Outside no.40
Tranmere Road - Outside no. 7 Wallisdean Avenue - Outside no. 25
Walmer Road - Outside no.5 Wesley Grove - Outside no.59
b) To remove disabled bays in the following locations
Allaway Avenue (outside no. 79) Falmouth Road (outside no. 138)
Fernhurst Road (outside no. 37) Harleston Road (outside no. 46)
Harleston Road (outside no. 78) Laburnum Grove (outside no. 31)
Langford Road (outside no. 30) Ludlow Road (outside no. 47)
Queens Road (outside no. 93) St Augustine Road (outside no.46)
Somerset Road (outside no.4) Stanley Road (outside no. 18)
Tokio Road (outside no. 55) Tokio Road (outside no. 59)
Whitworth Road (outside no. 47)
3. The bays would be available for use by Blue Badge holders only at all times. The Blue Badge or relevant permit issued by the council must be displayed in the windscreen of the vehicle at all times when using the bay.
4. Copies of the draft Order and Statement of Reasons and plans are available to view on Portsmouth City Council’s website: Search "Traffic Regulation Orders 2025" at

www.portsmouth.gov.uk.

Alternatively, they can be viewed at the Civic Offices, Guildhall Square, PO1 2AL, Monday to Friday between 9am - 4pm. Printed copies can be obtained by calling 02392 841767.
5. Persons wishing to object to these proposals must do so by sending their representations to

TROteam@portsmouthcc.gov.uk

or by post to Traffic Regulation Orders, Parking Team, Portsmouth City Council, Civic Offices, Portsmouth PO1 2NE, quoting ref P045 - 25 within 21 days of the date of this Notice (i.e. by 6th March 2026) stating the grounds for the objection.
