GORCHYMYN CEFNFFORDD YR A5 (CAPEL CURIG, BWRDEISTREF SIROL CONWY) (GWAHARDD CERBYDAU LLYDAN) 202-
MAE GWEINIDOGION CYMRU yn bwriadu gwneud Gorchymyn o dan adran 14 o Ddeddf Rheoleiddio Traffig Ffyrdd 1984 ymhen dim llai na 7 niwrnod i ddyddiad yr Hysbysiad hwn. Mae angen y Gorchymyn arfaethedig er mwyn gwneud gwaith ar gefnffordd yr A5, neu gerllaw iddi, i’r de o Gapel Curig, Bwrdeistref Sirol Conwy.
Effaith y Gorchymyn arfaethedig fydd gwahardd dros dro gerbydau sy’n 3 metr o led neu’n lletach rhag mynd ar y darn o’r gefnffordd yng Nghapel Curig sy’n ymestyn o’r fynedfa i Gronfa Ddwˆ r Ffynnon Llugwy, i’r gorllewin o Gapel Curig hyd at yr arwydd terfyn cyflymder 30mya ger Pont Cyfyng, i’r dwyrain o Gapel Curig.
Y llwybr arall ar gyfer cerbydau llydan sy’n teithio tua’r de yw mynd ar yr A5 tua’r gogledd i Gyffordd 11 yr A55, yr A55 tua’r dwyrain i Gyffordd 19 a’r A470 tua’r de i Fetws-y-coed i ailymuno â’r A5 tuag at Gapel Curig. Bydd cerbydau llydan sy’n teithio tua’r gogledd yn dilyn y llwybr arall uchod i’r gwrthwyneb.
Daw’r Gorchymyn i rym ar 19 Chwefror 2026. Disgwylir y bydd y gwaharddiad dros dro yn weithredol yn ysbeidiol hyd 30 Ebrill 2026 neu hyd nes y caiff yr arwyddion traffig dros dro eu symud ymaith yn barhaol.
Dim ond yn ystod y cyfnod a bennir uchod y disgwylir i’r gwaharddiad dros dro fod yn weithredol. Er hynny, bydd y Gorchymyn yn parhau’n ddilys am gyfnod o 18 mis ar y mwyaf, rhag ofn y bydd angen ailamserlennu’r gwaith neu wneud gwaith canlyniadol neu waith arall. Bydd hysbysiad ymlaen llaw am unrhyw newidiadau i’r amseroedd a’r dyddiadau yn cael ei arddangos cyn gwneud unrhyw waith a ailamserlennir.

THE A5 TRUNK ROAD (CAPEL CURIG, CONWY COUNTY BOROUGH)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF WIDE VEHICLES) ORDER 202-
THE WELSH MINISTERS propose, in not less than 7 days from the date of this Notice, to make an Order under section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, which is necessary to undertake works on or near the A5 trunk road south of Capel Curig, Conwy County Borough.
The effect of the proposed Order will be to temporarily prohibit vehicles with a width of, or greater than, 3 metres from proceeding on the length of trunk road at Capel Curig that extends from the entrance to Ffynnon Llugwy Reservoir, west of Capel Curig to the 30mph speed limit sign near Pont Cyfyng, east of Capel Curig.
The alternative route for southbound wide vehicles will be via the northbound A5 to Junction 11 of the A55, the A55 eastbound to Junction 19 and the A470 southbound to Betws-y-Coed to rejoin the A5 towards Capel Curig. Northbound wide vehicles will follow the above alternative route in reverse.
The Order will come into force on 19 February 2026, and the temporary prohibition is expected to operate intermittently until 30 April 2026 or until the temporary traffic signs are permanently removed.
Although the temporary prohibition is only expected to operate during the period specified above the Order will remain valid for a maximum period of 18 months, as a contingency, should the work need to be rescheduled, or consequential or other work is required. Advance notice of any changes to times and dates will be displayed before any rescheduled work.
