Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.

ASHFORD AREA

Ashford Road, Bilsington & B2067 Bonnington Road, Bonnington.​ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER FEBRUARY 2026

To allow installation works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Ashford Road, Bilsington & B2067 Bonnington Road, Bonnington from 19th February 2026 with estimated completion by 20th February 2026, between the hours of 08:00 and 16:00, or until the works have been completed.

The roads will be closed in phases, at the junctions where they meet, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for Ashford Road is via Ashford Road, Dynes Lane, Stone Cross Road, Capel Road, Hamstreet Road, Ashford Road, B2067 Cock Lane, Ruckinge Road, Hamstreet Road, Bilsington Road and vice versa.

Barn Platt, Ashford, TN23 7UQ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER FEBRUARY 2026

To allow pole and cabling works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Barn Platt, Ashford from 19th February 2026 with estimated completion by 20th February 2026, between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between numbers 36 and 20, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Barn Platt, Bond Road, Jemmett Road and Barn Platt.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Benenden Road, Biddenden.​ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER MARCH 2026

To allow pole and cabling works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Benenden Road, Biddenden from 3rd March 2026 with estimated completion by 4th March 2026, between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed approximately 50m west of Castleton’s heading 100m further in a westerly direction, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Benenden Road, Goddards Green Road, New Pond Road, The Street, Cherryfields, The Green, Rolvenden Road, Regent Street, Tenterden Road, Rolvenden Hill, Cranbrook Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Blackwall Road, Wye.​ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER MARCH 2026

To allow tree cutting works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Blackwall Road, Wye from 4th March 2026 for up to one day, between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from outside Holly Cottage heading 150m in a northerly direction, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Blackwall Road, Blackwall Road South, A2070 Kennington Road, Willesborough Interchange, A2070 M20 J10 Roundabout, A20 Hythe Road, Honeysuckle Avenue, Hinxhill Road, Goodcheap Lane and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Bridge Street, Wye.​ (PROHIBITION OF PARKING) TEMPORARY ORDER FEBRUARY 2026

To allow vehicles to safely enter and exit the car park, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting parking on part of Bridge Street, Wye from 16th February 2026 for up to one day, or until the works have been completed.

Parking will be prohibited on Bridge Street between numbers 43 and 61, as indicated by no waiting cones on site.



Church Hill, Chilham, CT4 8EJ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER MARCH 2026

To allow new connection works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Church Hill, Chilham from 2nd March 2026, with estimated completion by 6th March 2026, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside number 9 The Bothy, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via The Square, Taylors Hill and A252 Maidstone Road.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Church Road & Station Road, Smeeth.​ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER FEBRUARY 2026

To allow repair works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Church Road & Station Road, Smeeth from 16th February 2026, with estimated completion by 18th February 2026, or until the works have been completed.

The roads will be closed at the junction with A20 Hythe Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for Church Road is via Church Road, Woolpack Hill, Plain Road, Manor Leaze, Stone Hill, Southenay Lane, A20 Main Road and Hythe Road.

The alternative route for Station Road is via Station Road, Bower Road, The Street and A20 Hythe Road.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Gribble Bridge Lane, Biddenden, TN27 8DF (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER FEBRUARY 2026

To allow excavation works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Gribble Bridge Lane, Biddenden from 16th February 2026, with estimated completion by 20th February 2026, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between the junctions with Benenden Road and Readers Bridge Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Gribble Bridge Lane, Benenden Road, Tenterden Road, Biddenden Road, Bugglesden Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Lewd Lane, Smarden, TN27 8NP (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER FEBRUARY 2026

To allow new water connection works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Lewd Lane, Smarden from 16th February 2026, with estimated completion by 18th February 2026, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of Mount Pleasant Farm, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Lewd Lane, Bell Lane, Smarden Bell Road, Burnthouse Lane, Biddenden Road, Cage Lane, The Street, Pluckley Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Mill Lane, Chilham, CT4 8DU (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER FEBRUARY 2026

To allow level crossing inspection works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Mill Lane, Chilham from 22nd February 2026 for up to one day, between the hours of 07:00 and 19:00, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed 20m either side of Chilham Mill level crossing, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

There is no alternative route for this closure, however, residential and emergency access will be maintained at all times when it is safe to do so.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Mountain Street, Chilham, CT4 8EJ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER MARCH 2026

To allow water pipe repair works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Mountain Street, Chilham from 22:00 hours on 3rd March 2026, with estimated completion by 05:00 hours on 4th March 2026, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of Hambrook House, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

There is no alternative route for this closure, however, emergency access will be maintained at all times when it is safe to do so.

Residents will be informed of vehicular access times via a letter drop to the affected area and as displayed by signage on site.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Oxenturn Road, Wye.​ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER MARCH 2026

To allow pole and cabling works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Oxenturn Road, Wye from 4th March 2026 with estimated completion by 5th March 2026, between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from The Hermatage heading 100m south, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Oxenturn Road, Upper Bridge Street, Scotton Street, Coldharbour Lane, Amage Road, The Street, Spelders Hill, Nats Lane, Naccolt Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Pilgrims Lane, Chilham, CT4 8AB (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER FEBRUARY 2026

To allow overhead cabling works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Pilgrims Lane, Chilham from 16th February 2026 for up to one day, between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of Holly Cottage, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Shalmsford Road, A28 Canterbury Road, Bowerland Lane, Pilgrims Lane and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Plurenden Road, Woodchurch, TN26 3JW (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER MARCH 2026

To allow drainage works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Plurenden Road, Woodchurch from 2nd March 2026, with estimated completion by 6th March 2026, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between Plurenden Farm and number 8, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Plurenden Road, Shadoxhurst Road, Spot House Lane, Place Lane, Lower Road, Front Road, B2067 Brook Street, Woodchurch Road, B2080 Beacon Oak Road, A28 Ashford Road, Silver Hill, Ashford Road, Grange Road, Church Hill and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



River Hall Lane, Biddenden, TN27 8JL (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER FEBRUARY 2026

To allow new connection works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of River Hall Lane, Biddenden from 18th February 2026, with estimated completion by 20th February 2026, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of Cot Farm, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via River Hall Lane, Pook Lane, Smarden Road, A274 Headcorn Road, Cot Lane and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Sandy Lane, Great Chart, TN26 1JN (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER MARCH 2026

To allow fire hydrant renewal works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Sandy Lane, Great Chart from 2nd March 2026, with estimated completion by 6th March 2026, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of Fleeden, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Sandy Lane, A28 Ashford Road, Old Surrenden Manor Road, Vitters Oak Lane and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Stocks Road, Wittersham, TN30 7ER (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER MARCH 2026

To allow frame and cover works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Stocks Road, Wittersham from 2nd March 2026, with estimated completion by 4th March 2026, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of 1 Stocks Cottage, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Stocks Road, Wittersham Road, Catts Hill, Appledore Road, B2080 Ferry Road, Tenterden Road, Reading Street, Appledore Road, B2067 East Hill, Oaks Road, East Cross, A28 High Street, West Cross, B2082 Smallhythe Road, Peening Quarter Road, Poplar Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Surrenden Road, Pluckley, TN27 0PP (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER MARCH 2026

To allow pole and cabling works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Surrenden Road, Pluckley from 3rd March 2026 with estimated completion by 4th March 2026, between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between Kiln Plat and Great Orchard, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Surrenden Road, Swan Lane, Charing Road, Forge Hill, Smarden Road, Chambers Green Road, End Of Pluckley Road At River Beult To Chambers Green Road, Station Approach, Pluckley Road, Fridd Lane, Bethersden Road, Sparrow Hatch Lane, Dowle Street Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Swain Road, Tenterden.​ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER FEBRUARY 2026

To allow pole and cabling works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Swain Road, Tenterden from 19th February 2026 with estimated completion by 20th February 2026, between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed approximately 100m east of Huntbourne heading 100m further in an easterly direction, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Swain Road, A28 Ashford Road, Silver Hill, B2080 Beacon Oak Road, B2067 Woodchurch Road and Brook Street.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



The Street, Little Chart.​ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER MARCH 2026

To allow pole and cabling works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of The Street, Little Chart from 4th March 2026 with estimated completion by 5th March 2026, between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from Home Farm heading approximately 100m in a southerly direction, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via The Street, Calehill Road, Pluckley Road, Charing Road, Swan Lane and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
