EAST AYRSHIRE COUNCIL

(A70, Cumnock to Ochiltree)

(Temporary Road Closure) Order 2026

On 03 February 2026 the Council, in exercise of the powers conferred on it under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, and of all other enabling powers, made the above-named Order, to allow Road Safety Improvement works.

Temporary Road Closure – A70, Cumnock to Ochiltree

A70 – from its junction with Station Avenue to C97 Skares.

The Order commences on 21 February 2026 and has a maximum duration of 18 months or until the works are completed, whichever is earlier. The works are expected to commence from 21 February 2026 at 08:00 with the closure remaining in place until 01 March 2026 at 18:00.

The road will be closed between 08:00 each Saturday until 18:00 each Sunday for the duration of the works with it being open out-with these times or until the works are complete whatever is earlier.

The days and times of the works may be dependent upon the weather conditions but the Order will be implemented only when the appropriate signs are displayed.

Emergency Services access will not be affected and access for residents, deliveries and pedestrians’ out-with the working zone will be maintained when safe and possible to do so.

An alternative route will be signed via A70 – Mill Street – Barony Road – Darnlaw View – Mauchline Road – A76 – A70 and vice versa.

(Blarene Drive, New Cumnock) (Temporary Road Closure & Prohibition of Waiting) Order 2026

On 03 February 2026 the Council, in exercise of the powers conferred on it under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the Road Traffic (Permitted Parking and Special Parking Area) (East Ayrshire Council) Designation Order 2012 and the Road Traffic Act 1991 and of all other enabling powers, made the above-named Order to allow Scottish Power Works.

Road Closure – Blarene Drive, New Cumnock

From junction with Ardinth Avenue for 50m eastbound

From junction with Ardinth Avenue for 50m eastbound both sides of carriageway

The Order commences on 16 February 2026 and has a maximum duration of 18 months or until the works are completed, whichever is earlier. The works are expected to commence from 16 February 2026 at 08:00 until 27 February 2026 at 17:00.

The days and times of the works may be dependent upon the weather conditions but the Order restrictions will be implemented only when the appropriate signs are displayed.

Access for Emergency Services, residents and deliveries out-with the working zone will be maintained via diversion route.

An alternative route is Blarene Drive, Connel View, Ardinth Avenue and vice versa.
