THE A46 TRUNK ROAD (BETWEEN WINTHORPE AND WITHAM ST HUGHS)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC IN LAYBYS) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited (Company no. 9346363) has made an order on the A46 Trunk Road, between Winthorpe and Witham St Hughs, in the Counties of Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire, to allow carriageway reconstruction and renewal works to be carried out.
The effect of the Order will be to close any layby situated adjacent to the northbound and southbound carriageways of the A46 from its roundabout junction with the A1133 and Drove Lane, at Winthorpe, to its roundabout junction with Halfway House Lane and Camp Road, at Witham St Hughs.
The layby closures are expected to start at 13:00 hours on Monday 16 February 2026 and continue for approximately three months. The Order will come into force on 9 February 2026.
Vehicles being used for police, fire and rescue authority or ambulance purposes and vehicles being used in connection with the works or for winter maintenance purposes will be exempt from the closures.
