What is happening?

CITY OF NEWCASTLE UPON TYNE

(EAST BACK HARLEY TERRACE) TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2026

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on 29 January 2026 the Council of the City of Newcastle upon Tyne made an Order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicular traffic to proceed on East Back Harley Terrace for its entire length.

2. There is no alternative route for traffic.

3. The order is required to allow works to be carried out on or near the highway.

4. Exemptions will be provided for vehicles engaged in the said works.

5. The Order will come into operation on 16 February 2026 and will continue, as and when the relevant traffic signs are displayed, up to 20 February 2026 or until the proposed works are completed, whichever is the earlier.
