Dover, Multiple Temporary Traffic Regulation Notices

What is happening?

Highways

Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.

DOVER AREA

Adelaide Road, Eythorne & Elvington (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Adelaide Road, Eythorne & Elvington, on or after 9th February 2026 for up to 33 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between the junctions of Church Hill and Terrace Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Church Hill, Shepherdswell Road, Wigmore Lane, Barville Road, Pike Road, Thornton Road, Mill Top, Tye Wood, Roman Way, Adelaide Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Alkham Valley Road, Alkham & Temple Ewell (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow highway maintenance works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Alkham Valley Road, Alkham & Temple Ewell, on or after 23rd February 2026 for up to 16 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from outside Bushy Ruff to outside Fairview Cottages, between the hours of 20:00 and 05:00 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any Eastbound through traffic is via Alkham Valley Road, A260 Alkham Valley Road, A260 Canterbury Road, A259 Canterbury Road, A260 Hill Road Dual Carriageway, B2011 Dover Hill, B2011 New Dover Road, B2011 Folkestone Road, A256 York Street, A256 Priory Road, A256 High Street, A256 London Road, A256 Crabble Hill, A256 London Road, London Road and Alkham Road.

The alternative route for any Westbound through traffic is via Alkham Road, London Road, A256 London Road, A256 Crabble Hill, A256 Buckland Avenue, A256 Barton Road, A256 Frith Road, A256 Charlton Green, A256 Maison Dieu Road, Pencester Road, Biggin Street, Priory Street, A256 York Street, B2011 Folkestone Road, B2011 New Dover Road, B2011 Dover Hill, A260 Hill Road Dual Carriageway, A259 Canterbury Road, A260 Canterbury Road, A260 Alkham Valley Road and Alkham Valley Road.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Bowling Street, Sandwich, CT13 9EZ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Bowling Street, Sandwich, on or after 23rd February 2026 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside number 3, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Bowling Street, Strand Street, Church Street St Mary, Delf Street and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Church Lane, Ripple, CT14 8JL (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow gas works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Church Lane, Ripple, on or after 23rd February 2026 for up to 8 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside Westering, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Church Lane, Mantles Hill, Mongeham Road, Chapel Lane and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Coldblow, Deal, CT14 9JH (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Coldblow, Deal, on or after 15th February 2026 for up to 1 day or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from Bellevue for approximately 100m in a Northerly direction, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Coldblow, Station Road, A258 Dover Road, Ripple Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Cop Street Road, Ash, CT3 2DP (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Cop Street Road, Ash, on or after 9th February 2026 for up to 3 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside Upper Goldstone Farm, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Richborough Road, Knell Lane, A257 Ash Bypass, Cop Street, Cop Street Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Fernfield Lane, Hawkinge, CT18 7AW (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Fernfield Lane, Hawkinge, on or after 9th February 2026 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside Malabar, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Fernfield Lane, Lockeringe Lane, Alkham Valley Road, Stombers Lane, Cowgate Lane and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Foxborough Hill, Woodnesborough, CT13 0NL (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Foxborough Hill, Woodnesborough, on or after 9th February 2026 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside Bowling Green Cottages, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Foxborough Hill, Beacon Lane, Drainless Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Kingsdown Road, Walmer, CT14 7LH (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Kingsdown Road, Walmer, on or after 23rd February 2026 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside number 52, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Kingsdown Road, Granville Road, Liverpool Road, Clarence Road, The Beach and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Nightingale Lane, Nonington (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Nightingale Lane, Nonington, on or after 23rd February 2026 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed approximately 300m South from the junction of Holt Street, between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Nightingale Lane, Holt Street, Easole Street, Sandwich Road, C230 Un-named Road From Thornton Road To Sandwich Road, Mill Top, Sandwich Lane, Barfreston Road, The Street and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Tower Hamlets Road, Dover, CT17 0ST (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Tower Hamlets Road, Dover, on or after 15th February 2026 for up to 8 hours or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between the junctions of A256 London Road and De Burgh Street, between the hours of 08:00 and 16:00 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any Westbound through traffic is via Tower Hamlets Road, Tower Street, Astor Avenue, Eaton Road, Elms Vale Road, B2011 Folkestone Road, A256 York Street, A256 Priory Road and A256 High Street.

The alternative route for any Eastbound through traffic is via Bridge Street, A256 Charlton Green, A256 Maison Dieu Road, Pencester Road, Biggin Street, Priory Street, A256 York Street, B2011 Folkestone Road, Elms Vale Road, Eaton Road, Astor Avenue, Tower Street and Tower Hamlets Road.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Upton Wood Road, Shepherdswell, CT15 7LE (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow utility works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Upton Wood Road, Shepherdswell, on or after 12th January 2026 for up to 10 hours or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside Upton Wood House, between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

There is no alternative route. Every effort will be made to maintain access for residents whenever it is safe to do so.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Upton Wood Road, Shepherdswell CT15 7LE (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow utility works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Upton Wood Road, Shepherdswell, on or after 9th February 2026 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside Lane End Farm, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

There is no alternative route. Every effort will be made to maintain access for residents whenever it is safe to do so.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
