PUBLIC NOTICE
THE WOLVERHAMPTON CITY COUNCIL
(COXWELL AVENUE) (TEMPORARY
PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Wolverhampton City Council propose to make an Order under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as substituted by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, prohibiting vehicles from proceeding on the following stretches of road:
• Slip Lane on Stafford Road closed from McDonalds to Coxwell Avenue. Footway diversion in place. It is anticipated that the closure will operate from 08:00 on 16 February 2026, until 17:00 on 21 February 2026.
• Coxwell Avenue closed at its junction with Stafford Road. It is anticipated that the closure will operate from 08:00 on 21 February 2026, until 17:00 on 27 February 2026.
Vehicular diversion route: Glaisher Drive, Showell Road, Bushbury Lane, Stafford Road and vice versa.
The Order may operate for a maximum period of eighteen months, but it is anticipated that the works will be undertaken between the dates detailed above, between the times stipulated.
The Order is required to facilitate footway and carriageway excavation required to install an electric cable to supply new EV chargers outside McDonalds by Man Power Connections.
