What is happening?
THE EAST RIDING OF YORKSHIRE COUNCIL
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH
TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026
PART OF ALTON ROAD, BRIDLINGTON
East Riding of Yorkshire Council has made an Order the
effect of which is to prohibit any person from causing
any vehicle to proceed/from proceeding on foot/
whether on foot, pedal cycle or on horseback along
part of Alton Road, Bridlington encompassing property
number 6 commencing 23 February 2026 at
08.00 hours until 5 March 2026 at 18.00 hours.
The reason for the closure is to enable the proposed
part of Alton Road, Bridlington new electricity
connection works, to be carried out and completed
in a manner consistent with ensuring the safety of
the public. It is anticipated that the works will be
completed within 11 days.
The alternative route for traffic affected by the Order
is via Alton Road, Trentham Drive, Rudding Drive and
Haddon Road, Bridlington CP, Bridlington North Ward.
The road will be closed to all through traffic but access
will be maintained for residents, emergency vehicles and
pedestrians. The Order will commence 23 February
2026 and continue in force for a period not exceeding
eighteen months or until the works which it is
proposed to carry out have been completed, whichever
is the earlier. Further information can be obtained from
