ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WAKEFIELD (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER (NO 44) 2026

SECTION 14

(EDWARD DRIVE, WAKEFIELD)

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield intend to make an Order on traffic management grounds for laying of a new telecoms duct to be carried out as follows:ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Edward Drive, Wakefield at the junction of Leeds Road. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Edward Drive. ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: Edward Drive, George Street, Church Lane, Leeds Road & vice versa.

PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 23rd February 2026 to 25th February 2026, or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner. Access to the premises on the closed length of road will be maintained whenever possible.

(SLACK LANE, NEWMILLERDAM)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER (NO 45) 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield intend to make an Order on traffic management grounds to locate and repair damaged/ blocked telecoms duct to be carried out as follows:-

ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Slack Lane, Newmillerdam. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Slack Lane.

ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: No diversion. Residents access to be maintained where possible.

PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 23rd February 2026 to 25th February 2026 road closed between 08.00 hours to 18.00 hours or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner. Access to the premises on the closed length of road will be maintained whenever possible.

(FOOTPATH FROM KIRKGATE TO

BRUNSWICK STREET, WAKEFIELD)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF USE) ORDER (NO 26) 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield by reason of works to allow for building site to be carried out on or near the footpath from Kirkgate to Brunswick Street, Wakefield near to the West Yorkshire Records Office, and the likelihood of danger arising to the public, has made an Order the effect of which is that no person shall proceed in the length of public footpath.

Alternative route for pedestrians: Signed diversion via Kirkgate, Brunswick Street & vice versa. The order comes into operation on 10th February 2025 to 9th August 2026 following an extension by the Secretary of State for Transport. Dated this 5th day of February 2026
