What is happening?
CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL PROPOSES TO EXTEND NO WAITING AT ANY TIME ON MILL ROAD, CRANFIELD AND NO STOPPING ON SCHOOL ENTRANCE MARKINGS ON HURST GROVE, LIDLINGTON
Reason for proposal: The purpose of this proposal is to improve safety for all road users and to reduce the likelihood of danger arising, as well as to facilitate the safe and efficient passage of traffic, including pedestrians. Specifically, the proposed waiting restrictions on Mill Road are intended to improve visibility for drivers exiting the junction with Springfield Way. The proposed restrictions on Hurst Grove aim to address ongoing issues with indiscriminate parking near Thomas Johnson Lower School, enhancing safety for those travelling to and from the school.
Effect of the Order:
To introduce No Waiting at any time on the following length of road in Cranfield:-
1. Mill Road, south-east side, from a point approximately 12 metres from the centre of the junction with Springfield Road (where the existing double yellow lines end), and extending south-west for approximately 25 metres.
2. Station Crescent, both sides, from the centre of the junction with Hurst Grove and extending north-west into the road for approximately 10 metres.
3. Hurst Grove, north-west side, from the junction with Station Crescent and extending north-east for approximately 10 metres.
4. Hurst Grove, north-west side, from the junction with Station Crescent and extending south-west for approximately 21 metres.
5. Hurst Grove, south-east side, from a point approximately in line with common property boundary between No.19 and No.21 and extending south-west for approximately 84 metres.
To introduce No Stopping on School Entrance Markings from Monday to Friday between 8.00am and 4.30pm on the following length of road in Lidlington:-
1. Hurst Grove, north-west side, from a point approximately 10 metres south-west of the common property boundary between No.23 and No.25 and extending southwest initially before following the curvature of the kerb north-west for a total distance of approximately 43.5 metres.
