ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

TEMPORARY TRAFFIC ORDER – WITHDEAN ROAD AND WAYLAND AVENUE, BRIGHTON

1. NOTICE is hereby given that Brighton & Hove City Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order pursuant to powers in Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended which when it comes into force will have the following effect:-

The following roads will be closed in phased sections, and will only be in force as and when signed.

a) The temporary closure of Withdean Road, Brighton, for it’s entire length.

b) The temporary closure of Wayland Avenue, Brighton, between the junction with Dyke Road Place and the junction with Withdean Road.

2. The Order is necessary to allow contractors to carry out works on behalf of UKPN to install new High Voltage Electricity cables.

3. Pedestrian access will be maintained, and a signed diversion route will be in place for vehicular traffic.

4. This Order comes into force on 18 February 2026 for eighteen months or until such sooner time as the works are completed, which is anticipated to be 23 April 2026.
