NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Bedford Borough Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, from proceeding along the length of Lurke Street, Bedford from Gadsby Street to St Cuthberts Road.
This temporary road closure is required to facilitate install new water main and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. This temporary road closure is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours from 18th February 2026 to 25th February 2026 The signed alternative route for vehicles affected by the order is available via St Cuthberts Street, Castle Road, Mill Street, Gadsby Street, Lurke Street.
The reverse route applies.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Bedford Borough Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Shakespeare Road, Bedford from Junction Clapham Road to Junction Bromham Road including MIlton Road This temporary road closure is required to facilitate various remedial works throughout Shakespeare Road, replacement of columns, footway repairs, stump grinding of tree stumps and installation of new tree pits. Carriageway repairs, gully cleansing and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. This temporary road closure is anticipated to be in operation 09:15 to 15:30 hours from 16th February 2026 to 20th February 2026

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2020
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Order made by Bedford Borough Council on the 31st July 2020, extended on 4th February 2021, 28th January 2022, 3rd January 2023, 2nd January 2024 and 22th January 2026 the effect of which will be to prohibit any person proceeding on foot along the length of Turvey Part of footpath No A4 which extends from Ordnance Survey Grid Reference (OS GR) SP 9568 5202 to (OS GR) SP 9579 5185 has been continued in force with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport until 31st August 2027.
This closure is required for construction works to continue on site.
The closure will continue from Tuesday 10th February 2026 until 31st August 2027.
There will be a minor diversion on site, please refer to site plan. The Order will come into operation on 10th February 2026 for a period not exceeding eighteen months or until the works which it is proposed to carry out on or near to footpath have been completed, whichever is the earlier. If the works are not completed within eighteen months the Order may be extended for a longer period with the consent of the Secretary of State for Transport.

BEDFORD BOROUGH COUNCIL
(CARDINGTON: BRIDLEWAY NO 2 AND COPLE BRIDLEWAY NO 14)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that an Order made by Bedford Borough Council on 2nd August 2024, extended on 31st January 2025 and 8th January 2026 the effect of which will be to prohibit any person proceeding on horseback or lead a horse along Cardington Bridleway No 2 and Cople Bridleway No 14, which extends from Ordnance Survey Grid Reference OS GR TL 1057 4711 to OS GR TL 1120 4535 has been continued in force with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport until 8th February 2027.
This closure is required due to holes in the surface of the bridleway caused by animals. The closure will continue from Monday 9th February 2026 for a period of one year.
There is no alternative route for users while the closure is in place. The Order will come into operation on 9th February 2026 for a period not exceeding one year or until the works which it is proposed to carry out on or near to the bridleways have been completed, whichever is the earlier. If the works are not completed within one year the Order may be extended for a longer period with the consent of the Secretary of State for Transport.
