What is happening?

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
SECTION 14 (1) TEMPORARY PROHIBITION
OF THROUGH TRAFFIC
SAND LANE, WILBERFOSS
Notice is hereby given that East Riding of Yorkshire
Council intends not less than seven days from the date
of this notice to make an Order, the effect of which will
be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along the
entire length of Sand Lane, Wilberfoss commencing
4 March 2026 until 6 March 2026 for the purposes
of undertaking test rod and rope works and for
the installation of sub duct into the existing fibre
infrastructure as part of the larger fibre to home
scheme works. The road closure is necessary to enable
the works to be carried out in a manner consistent
with ensuring the safety of the public.
The Order is valid for 18 months, but it is anticipated
that the works will be completed within three days.
The alternative route for traffic affected by the road
closure will be via Feoffee Common Lane, A1079
York Road and A1079 Hull Road.
The diversion route will be signed at the time of
closure. The road will be closed to all through traffic
but access will be maintained for residents, emergency
vehicles and pedestrians.
