What is happening?

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
SECTION 14 (1) TEMPORARY PROHIBITION
OF THROUGH TRAFFIC
PART OF WOOD GATE, MILLINGTON
Notice is hereby given that East Riding of Yorkshire
Council intends not less than seven days from the date
of this notice to make an Order, the effect of which
will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along
part of Wood Gate, Millington from a property called
Whitehaven eastbound to a property called Woodgate
Farm commencing 9 March 2026 at 08.00 hours
until 11 March 2026 at 18.00 hours for the purposes
of excavation to install approximately 250 metres of
telecoms duct to link to the existing apparatus as part
of the larger fibre to home scheme works.
The road closure is necessary to enable the works to
be carried out in a manner consistent with ensuring the
safety of the public. The Order is valid for 18 months,
but it is anticipated that the works will be completed
within three days. The alternative route for traffic
affected by the road closure will be via:
Wood Gate, The Balk, Main Road, York Lane,
Pocklington Lane, Pasture Lane and Millington Pastures.
The diversion route will be signed at the time of
closure. The road will be closed to all through traffic
but access will be maintained for residents, emergency
vehicles and pedestrians. Further information can
