What is happening?

THE EAST RIDING OF YORKSHIRE COUNCIL
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
SECTION 14 (1) TEMPORARY PROHIBITION
OF THROUGH TRAFFIC
MAIN STREET, ELLERTON, COMMON LANE
AND MILL LANE, ELLERTON

Notice is hereby given that East Riding of Yorkshire
Council intends not less than seven days from the date
of this notice to make an Order, the effect of which will
be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along the
entire length of Main Street, Ellerton, Common Lane
and Mill Lane, Ellerton commencing 2 March 2026
until 5 March 2026 for the purposes of carriageway
maintenance works (completed in phases).
The road closure is necessary to enable the works to
be carried out in a manner consistent with ensuring the
safety of the public.
The Order is valid for 18 months, but it is anticipated
that the works will be completed within four days.
The alternative route for traffic affected by the
road closure will be via Long Rampart, Ellerton CP,
Howdenshire Ward. The diversion route will be signed
at the time of closure. The road will be closed to
all through traffic but access will be maintained for
residents, emergency vehicles and pedestrians.
