What is happening?
CITY OF BRISTOL (VARIOUS ROADS, KNOWLE, BRISTOL) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF USE BY VEHICLES) ORDER 2026
NOTICE is hereby given that the City Council of Bristol in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended intend to make an Order the effect of which will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles the lengths of roads specified in Schedule 1 to this Notice.
The Order is required because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the roads and will be operative from 19th February 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period, but only as necessitated by the works (which are anticipated to take place between 19th February 2026 and 28th August 2026 – please see Schedule 2 below for more details).
In addition, the closure of lengths of roads specified in Schedule 1 to this Notice which also provide part of an alternative route (as specified in Schedule 3 to this Notice) will be managed so as to allow the provision of the alternative routes whilst facilitating the works programme.

SCHEDULE 1 – Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles
1. Connaught Road – from Ilminster Avenue to Torrington Avenue
2. Daventry Road – (a) from Broad Walk to Exmouth Road (b) from Broad Walk to Melvin Square
3. Ilminster Avenue – from Newy Walk to Newquay Road
4. Kenmare Road – from Daventry Road to Kerry Road
5. Newquay Road – from Crediton Crescent to Daventry Road
6. Teignmouth Road – from Salcombe Road westwards to its closed end
7. Tavistock Road – from Cossington Road to Ilminster Avenue
SCHEDULE 2 – Durations
1 & 7. from 3rd August 2026 for 2 Weeks
2a. from 18th May 2026 for 2 Weeks
2b. for the full duration (Road to be closed 1-2 day at a time
during the duration not when other closures are on)
3. from 17th August 2026 for 1 Week
4. from 19th February 2026 for 4 Weeks
5. from 13th April 2026 for 5 Weeks
6. from 6th July 2026 for 4 Weeks

(TURNBERRY WALK, BRISLINGTON, BRISTOL) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF USE BY FOOT PASSENGERS AND PEDAL CYCLES) ORDER 2026
NOTICE is hereby given that the City Council of Bristol in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended intend to make an Order the effect of which will be to close, temporarily, to pedestrians and pedal cycles that length of Turnberry Walk which extends from West Town Lane westwards for 44 metres.
Exemption will be provided in the Order for pedestrians requiring necessary access to premises situated on, adjacent to or accessible only from that closed length of footpath as specified above.
The Order is required because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the footpath and will be operative from 18th February 2026 for a maximum period of six months. However, the closure may not be implemented for the whole of the period, but only as necessitated by the works (which are anticipated to take place daily from 9.30am to 5pm between 18th February 2026 and 20th February 2026).
