What is happening?

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1)

(ASHTON SQUARE, DUNSTABLE)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026 NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends

not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the full length of Ashton Square, Dunstable.

This temporary closure is required to enable carriageway repair works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 2 to 4 March 2026 between the hours of 0900am and 1530pm. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

There is no alternative route for this closure.

The Order will come into operation on 2 March 2026 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL (ICKNIELD STREET, DUNSTABLE) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the full length of Icknield Street, Dunstable.

This temporary closure is required to enable carriageway repair works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 16 to 18 February between the hours of 0800-1800. The road will be closed at all times during this period. The alternative route will be Bull Pond Lane, First Avenue, Osborne Rd, Canesworde Rd, Kirby rd, West St and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 16 February 2026 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL (BEDFORD ROAD, HOUGHTON REGIS) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Bedford Road, Houghton Regis between The Baulk and Driveside Cottage.

This temporary closure is required to enable footpath refurbishment and road resurfacing works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 16 to 20 February 202. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure is via B5120, A5, Watling St, B5120 and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 16 February 2026 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL (CHAUL END ROAD, CADDINGTON) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Chaul End Road, Caddington between no 18 to side of no 4 Cadia Close.

This temporary closure is required to enable blockage clearance work to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from on 22 February 2026 between the hours 0900 and 1530. The road will be closed at all times during this period. The alternative route for this closure is via A5065, A505, A5183, Dunstable Rd and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 22 February 2026 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL (FOOTPATH BETWEEN ARDLEY HILL ACADEMY AND NUMBER 13 LOWTHER ROAD, DUNSTABLE) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit pedestrians from proceeding along that length of footpath between Ardley Hill Academy and number 13 Lowther Road, Dunstable.

This temporary closure is required to enable new electricity supply work to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs.

It is expected that the works will take place 14 to 22 February 2025.

The alternative route for this closure is via the opposite footpath.

The Order will come into operation on 14 February 2026 for a period of four months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.
