HERTFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL:
(TEMPORARY CLOSING AND TEMPORARY WAITING RESTRICTIONS
IN THE A41 NORTHBOUND SLIP ROAD LEADING ONTO
THE B4635 ICKNIELD WAY ROUNDABOUT, TRING) ORDER 2026
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all traffic from using the A41 northbound slip road leading onto the B4635 Icknield Way roundabout, Tring from its junction with the northbound carriageway of A41 Tring Bypass north westwards to its junction with the B4635 Icknield Way roundabout, a distance of approximately 457m (“the Road”), except for access.
An alternative route will be via A41 (unnamed road), the A41 (unnamed road/Aston Clinton Road roundabout), A41 (unnamed road) and B4635 Icknield Way.
ADDITIONALLY all vehicles are prohibited from waiting at any time on both sides of this length of the Road whilst works are in progress.
The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 23 February 2026 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF OLD WATLING STREET, FLAMSTEAD) ORDER 2026
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Old Watling Street, Flamstead from a point 112m south east of its junction with Chad Lane south eastwards for a distance of approximately 15m (“the Road”).
An alternative route will be via Old Watling Street, Chad Lane, Coles Lane, Watery Lane and A5183 London Road.
The Order is needed because water main repair works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 24 February 2026 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF CHAPEL STREET, BERKHAMSTED) ORDER 2026
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all traffic from using that length of Chapel Street, Berkhamsted from its junction with Castle Street south eastwards to its junction with Ravens Lane, a distance of approximately 194m (“the Road”).
An alternative route will be via Castle Street, A4251 High Street and Ravens Lane.
The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 23 February 2026 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING AND TEMPORARY WAITING RESTRICTIONS IN VARIOUS ROADS IN MARKYATE) ORDER 2026
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads (“the Roads”), except for access and to prohibit all vehicles from waiting at any time on both sides of these lengths of Roads whilst works are in progress:1. that length of High Street, Markyate from its junction with Hicks Road north westwards and north eastwards to its junction with A5183 Dunstable Road, a distance of approximately 521m.
An alternative route will be via Hicks Road and A5183 Dunstable Road.
2. that length of Cavendish Road, Markyate from its junction with High Street south westwards for a distance of approximately 5m.
An alternative route will be via High Street, Buckwood Road, Cowper Rise, Cowper Road and Cavendish Road.
3. that length of Roman Way, Markyate from its junction with High Street north eastwards for a distance of approximately 5m.
There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.
4. that length of Wesley Road, Markyate from its junction with High Street south westwards for a distance of approximately 5m.
There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.
5. that length of Albert Street, Markyate from its junction with High Street south westwards for a distance of approximately 5m.
There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.
6. that length of Buckwood Road, Markyate from its junction with High Street south westwards and westwards to its junction with Parkfield, a distance of approximately 233m.
An alternative route will be via High Street, Hicks Road, A5183 (Dunstable Road/ Watling Street), B4540 Lynch Hill, Clay Hall Road and Buckwood Road.
7. that length of Pickford Road, Markyate from its junction with High Street south eastwards to its junction with Cleveland Road, a distance of approximately 35m.
An alternative route will be via High Street, Hicks Road, A5183 (Dunstable Road/
Watling Street), B4540 Lynch Hill, Clay Hall Road, Byslips Road, Clements End Road, Gaddesden Row, Markyate Street, Pickford Road, Cheverells Green and Pickford Road.
8. that length of Cleveland Road, Markyate from its junction with Pickford Road south eastwards for a distance of approximately 45m.
There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.
9. that length of Hicks Road, Markyate from its junction with High Street north eastwards to its junction with A5183 Dunstable Road, a distance of approximately 175m.
An alternative route will be via High Street, London Road and A5183 Dunstable Road or via A5183 Dunstable Road and High Street.
10. that length of William Street, Markyate from its junction with High Street south westwards for a distance of approximately 5m.
There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.
11. that length of King Street, Markyate from its junction with High Street south westwards for a distance of approximately 5m.
There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.
12. that length of High Street, Markyate from its junction with Hicks Road south eastwards to its junction with The Close, a distance of approximately 263m.
An alternative route will be via Hicks Road, A5183 Dunstable Road and London Road.
The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 25 February 2026 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF NETTLEDEN ROAD, FRITHSDEN) ORDER 2026
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Nettleden Road, Frithsden from a point 172m north east of its junction with Frithsden Lane eastwards and north eastwards for a distance of approximately 120m (“the Road”). An alternative route will be via Nettleden Road, The Common, Water End Road, Potten End Hill, B440 Leighton Buzzard Road and Nettleden Road. The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
The Order has been made and shall come into force on 11 February 2026 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road. NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Newfield Lane, Hemel Hempstead from its junction with Windmill Road north eastwards, eastwards, north eastwards and northwards to its junction with Broadfield Road, a distance of approximately 504m (“the Road”).
An alternative route will be via Windmill Road and Broadfield Road. The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
The Order has been made and shall come into force on 9 February 2026 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road. (TEMPORARY CLOSING OF BUNKERS LANE, HEMEL HEMPSTEAD) ORDER 2026
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Bunkers Lane, Hemel Hempstead from its junction with Belswains Lane north eastwards for a distance of approximately 55m (“the Road”).
An alternative route will be via Belswains Lane, Lawn Lane, A414 St Albans Road, A4147 (Leverstock Green Way/Leverstock Green Road), Bedmond Road and Bunkers Lane.
The Order is needed because water service connection works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
The Order has been made and shall come into force on 10 February 2026 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road. (RESTRICTION OF WAITING) ORDER 2026
NOTICE is given that the Hertfordshire County Council in order to improve road safety proposes under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to introduce new waiting restrictions in parts of Hemel Hempstead as specified in the Schedule to this Notice.
