What is happening?

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1)

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL

(PLANTATION ROAD, LEIGHTON BUZZARD AND OLD LINSLADE

ROAD, HEATH & REACH)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Plantation Road, Leighton Buzzard between Old Linslade Road and Heath Court and Old Linslade Road between Plantation Road and the river ouzel.

This temporary closure is required to enable tree removal work to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place on Plantation Road 25 February 2026 and Old Linslade Road on 24 February between the hours of 0800 and 1600. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure will be via Plantation Rd, West St, Stoke Rd, Old Linslade Rd and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 24 February 2026 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL

(LEIGHTON BUZZARD BYPASS, LEIGHTON BUZZARD)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Leighton Buzzard Bypass, Leighton Buzzard between Watling Street and Billington Road/Stanbridge Road Roundabout.

This temporary closure is required to enable Pre Surface Dressing/ Surface Dressing/ Lining and Civils Works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place for 3 weekends 21 to 22 February, 28 February to 1 March, 7 to 8 March between the hours of 0900-1530hrs. The road will be closed at all times during these periods.

The alternative route for this closure is via A505, A4146, A5 and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 21 February 2026 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL

(CEDARS WAY, LINSLADE)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Cedars Way, Linslade outside number 17.

This temporary closure is required to enable fire hydrant repair work to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 3 to 5 March 2026. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure is via Mentmore Rd, Finch Crescent and vice versa

The Order will come into operation on 3 March 2026 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.
