TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2026
Sunderland City Council gives notice that it intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which is to temporarily prohibit all vehicle traffic from Milton Avenue from the extended north-western property boundary of no.2 Milton Avenue to its south-eastern extent. The Order is required to facilitate gas main repair works. The order will come into force on 9th March 2026. The maximum duration of the closure under the Order will be eighteen months. However, the works are expected to be completed within 26 days. All vehicles will be prohibited from Milton Avenue from the extended north-western property boundary of no.2 Milton Avenue to its south-eastern extent (except for personnel involved in the works), until the works are completed or at such times and to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the display of traffic signs. An alternative route will be provided.
