Blackpool, Crystal Road - Temporary Prohibition of Traffic, to allow for works to be carried out.
What is happening?
THE BOROUGH OF BLACKPOOL
(CRYSTAL ROAD) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Blackpool Borough Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this Notice, to make the above Order under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other enabling powers to close a section of Crystal Road to allow for carriageway resurfacing. The effect of the Order will be to:
(a) Prohibit all vehicles from entering or proceeding in any direction along the length of Crystal Road, between a point on Crystal Road which is approximately 25 metres west of its junction with Bolton Street and its junction with Crystal Road.
(b) Temporarily suspend the waiting bays on the south side of Crystal Road along the length of Crystal Road from its junction with Bolton Street to the junction of the Promenade.
Pedestrian access to premises will be maintained at all times. Vehicular access will be maintained wherever possible. All diversion routes will be clearly signed and maintained on site.
The proposed Order will commence on 23 February 2026 and continue in force for eighteen months or until the sooner completion of the aforesaid works. It is expected that the work will take 8 days.
