Burnley Road - Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic to Allow a Barrier Repair Works
What is happening?
LANCASHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL (BURNLEY ROAD, HUNCOAT, HYNDBURN BOROUGH) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Lancashire County Council intend to make an Order under Section 14(1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic on the roads set out in this notice.
1. No person shall cause any motor vehicle to proceed over that length of Burnley Road, Huncoat from its junction with Kingsway for a distance of 280 metres in a north easterly direction.
2. Nothing in this order shall apply to persons engaged in the carrying out of the works.
3. The prohibition will be operative daily from 0930 hours to 1530 hours from Monday 16th February 2026 to Wednesday 25th February 2026 or until completion of the works within this period. Access for emergency services will be maintained whenever and wherever possible.
4. An alternative route for vehicular traffic affected by the closure is via:- Burnley Road – Accrington Bypass – Church Road – Burnley Road – Padiham Road – Cavalry Way – Accrington Road and vice versa
The temporary prohibition is necessary to allow a barrier repair works undertaken by Roocroft and Sons.
