What is happening?

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATIONS ACT 1984

NOTICE is hereby given that the Walsall Metropolitan Borough Council HAS made the following Order under Sections 1, 2, 3 & 4 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984.

WALSALL METROPOLITAN BOROUGH
(BRIDGE STREET (UPPER), WALSALL)
(PROHIBITION OF DRIVING OF MOTOR VEHICLES) ORDER, 2025

Restrictions under the Order
The Order will come into operation on Monday 2 February 2026 and includes the following effects as advertised in the Express and Star newspaper dated 10 October 2025.
A prohibition of motor vehicles on Bridge Street, Walsall between its junctions with Lichfield Street and Goodall Street all days 11pm – 5am only, with exemptions for buses and licensed taxis (Hackney carriages).

trafficmanagement@walsall.gov.uk.

If you wish to question the validity of the Order or any of the provisions contained in it on the grounds that they are not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984, or on the grounds that any requirements of that Act or of any instrument made under it has not been complied with in relation to the Order you may within six weeks from 30 January 2026, apply to the High Court for this purpose.
