Bedfordshire: Lower Stondon, Everton, Sandy, Biggleswade, Langford - Temporary Prohibition of Traffic

What is happening?

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1)
CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL
(BEDFORD ROAD, LOWER STONDON)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Bedford Road, Lower Stondon between Junction of Loganberry Way to the junction of Morello Way.

This temporary closure is required to enable water main installation work to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place for 2 whole weekends from 28 February to 1 March 2026 and again from 7 March to 8 March 2026 for 24hrs a day. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure is via A600, A507, B656, A505, A600 and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 28 February 2026 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL
(EVERTON ROAD, TEMPSFORD AND EVERTON HILL, EVERTON)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Everton Road, Tempsford and Everton Hill, Everton 20 metres either side of the level crossing.

This temporary closure is required to enable level crossing maintenance works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place on 2200hrs on 28 February 2026 to 0800 hrs on 1 March 2026. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure is via Tempsford Road, Sandy Road, Everton Road, Swaden, High Street, Bedford Road, Great North Road, Blunham Lane, C54 from Blunham Lane to Station Road, Church Street and Everton Road.

The Order will come into operation on 28 February 2026 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

(LONDON ROAD, SANDY)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of London Road, Sandy between A1 and Western Way.

This temporary closure is required to enable various sign amendment work and road marking works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 27 February to 2 March 2026. Between the hours 2100 and 0500. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure is via A1, Bedford Rd, St Neots Rd, West Rd, London Rd and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 27 February 2026 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL
(CRAB LANE, BIGGLESWADE)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Crab Lane, Biggleswade outside Ivel Medical Centre.

This temporary closure is required to enable defect resurfacing work to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 11 to 13 February 2026 between the hours of 8pm and 6am. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure is via Sun St, St Johns St, Potton Rd, b1040 and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 11 February 2026 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL
(CAMBRIDGE ROAD/ EDWORTH ROAD, LANGFORD)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Cambridge Road between Steamer Croft and Greenways and Edworth Road, Langford between C184 Roundabout for approx. 180m.

This temporary closure is required to enable carriageway repairs and lining works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 9 to 11 February between the hours of 0800-1600. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route will be A1, A6001, B659, Cambridge Road and vice versa. The Order will come into operation on 9 February 2026 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.
