What is happening?

(Chapel Lane, West Bergholt)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Chapel Lane, West Bergholt in the City of Colchester, from its junction with Spring Lane for a distance of approximately 40m in a north easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 23rd February 2026 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (AZ1031001470025 – Cadent). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while gas works are undertaken by Cadent.

An alternative route is available via Chapel Lane, Chapel Road, Newbridge Hill, Bourne Road, Chapel Lane and vice versa.

The Order will come into effect on 5th February 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Colchester Road, West Bergholt)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Colchester Road, West Bergholt in the City of Colchester from its junction with Manor Road for a distance of approximately 110m in a south easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 28th February 2026 for 2 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP003S50-2285 – Rose Builders Ltd). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new connection works are undertaken by Rose Builders Ltd.

An alternative route is available via B1508, A134, A131, B1508 and vice versa.

The Order will come into effect on 5th February 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Dilbridge Road West, Colchester)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Dilbridge Road West, Colchester in the City of Colchester, from its junction with Ipswich Road to its junction with Fairhead Road South a distance of approximately 290m. The closure is scheduled to commence on 24th February 2026 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2393265A – Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while footway and carriageway defect works are undertaken by Essex County Council.

An alternative route is available via Fairhead Road South, Compton Road, Ipswich Road and vice versa.

The Order will come into effect on 5th February 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Hythe Station Road/New Hythe Bridge, Colchester)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) & (Haddon Park, Colchester)

(Footway Closure Only) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order:

1. To temporarily close that length of Hythe Station Road/New Hythe Bridge, Colchester in the City of Colchester, from the junction with Hawkins Road to the junction with Haddon Park a distance of approximately 80m.

2. To temporarily close that length of Haddon Park, Colchester in the City of Colchester (footway only), from a point approximately 15m south east of its junction with Surgeon Street for a distance of approximately 60m in a south easterly direction.

These closures are scheduled to commence on 24th February 2026 for 9 days, or where stated on a valid permit (AD02310759297/3 & AD02310759297/4 – Anglian Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. These closures are required for the safety of the public and workforce while mains installation works are undertaken by Anglian Water.

An alternative route is available via Hythe Station Road, Greenstead Road, Greenstead Roundabout, Elmstead Road, Eastern Approach, A134 and vice versa.

The Order will come into effect on 5th February 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Tog Lane, Great Horkesley) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic & Introduction of a Clearway) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order:

1. To temporarily close that length of Tog Lane, Great Horkesley in the City of Colchester, from its junction with The Causeway to its junction with London Road a distance of approximately 1035m.

2. To temporarily introduce a ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping’ in the above length of road for the duration of the closure only.

The Essex County Council (Colchester City) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019” will be temporarily amended to include the temporary ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping at Any Time’ restriction and suspend any existing parking and waiting restrictions on the above length of road only. All other restrictions and exemptions contained in the aforementioned Order and Amendments to that Order shall remain in force.

The closure/clearway is scheduled to commence on 23rd February 2026 for 5 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2398675 – Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure/clearway is required for the safety of the public and workforce while topographic and CCTV survey works are undertaken by Essex County Council.

An alternative route is available via A134, London Road and vice versa.

The Order will come into effect on 5th February 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Bakers Lane, West Bergholt/Colchester)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Bakers Lane, West Bergholt/Colchester in the City of Colchester, from a point approximately 480m south-west of the junction of Burywoods for a distance of approximately 225m in south westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 8th February 2026 for 1 day, or where stated on a valid permit (KL701LTN1-50-42-080226 & KL701LTN1-50-42-080226A – Network Rail Infrastructure Ltd). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while bridge inspection works are undertaken by Network Rail Infrastructure Ltd.

An alternative route is available via A133, A1124, Halstead Road, Chitts Hill, Newbridge Hill, Chapel Road, B1508 (with access only into Bakers Lane).

The Order came into effect on 22nd January 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Bounstead Road, Colchester)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic & Introduction of a Clearway) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order:

1. To temporarily close that length of Bounstead Road, Colchester in the City of Colchester, from its junction with Berechurch Hall Road for a distance of approximately 100m in a south easterly direction.

2. To temporarily introduce a ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping’ in the above length of road for the duration of the closure only.

The Essex County Council (Colchester City) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019” will be temporarily amended to include the temporary ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping at Any Time’ restriction and suspend any existing parking and waiting restrictions on the above length of road only. All other restrictions and exemptions contained in the aforementioned Order and Amendments to that Order shall remain in force.

The closure/clearway is scheduled to commence on 9th February 2026 for 34 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2397542 – Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure/clearway is required for the safety of the public and workforce while surface dressing works are undertaken by Essex County Council.

An alternative route is available via Bounstead Road, Abberton Road, Maldon Green Road, B1026, Berechurch Hall Road and vice versa.

The Order came into effect on 22nd January 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Harwich Road, Colchester)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Harwich Road, Colchester in the City of Colchester, from its junction with Greenstead Road for a distance of approximately 50m in a north easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 15th February 2026 for 1 day, or where stated on a valid permit (AZ7011001479923 – Cadent). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new gas connection works are undertaken by Cadent.

An alternative route is available via Harwich Road, A133, Greenstead Road Roundabout, Greenstead Road and vice versa.

The Order came into effect on 22nd January 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(St Johns Close, Colchester)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic & Temporary Introduction of a Clearway) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order:

1. To temporarily close that length of St Johns Close, Colchester in the City of Colchester, from its junction with Evergreen Drive to its end a distance of approximately 125m.

2. To temporarily introduce a ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping’ in the above length of road for the duration of the closure only.

The “Essex County Council (Colchester City) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019” will be temporarily amended to include the temporary ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping at Any Time’ restriction and suspend any existing parking and waiting restrictions on the above lengths of roads only. All other restrictions and exemptions contained in the aforementioned Order and Amendments to that Order shall remain in force.

The closure/clearway is scheduled to commence on 14th February 2026 for 9 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2391927 – Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure/clearway is required for the safety of the public and workforce while carriageway reconstruction and kerbing works are undertaken by Essex County Council.

The Order came into effect on 22nd January 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order:

1. To temporarily close that length of Mill Road, Colchester in the City of Colchester, from its junction with Nayland Road to its junction with Defoe Crescent a distance of approximately 290m.

2. To temporarily introduce a ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping’ in the above length of road for the duration of the closure only.

The Essex County Council (Colchester City) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019” will be temporarily amended to include the temporary ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping at Any Time’ restriction and suspend any existing parking and waiting restrictions on the above length of road only. All other restrictions and exemptions contained in the aforementioned Order and Amendments to that Order shall remain in force.

The closure/clearway is scheduled to commence on 14th February 2026 for 9 days and resume on 28th March 2026 for 16 days or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2396186 & EP201EH2396186A – Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure/clearway is required for the safety of the public and workforce while healthy school streets schemes works are undertaken by Essex County Council.

An alternative route is available via Nayland Road, Mile End Road, A134, Mill Road and vice versa.

(Raven Way, Colchester) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic & Introduction of a Clearway) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order:

1. To temporarily close that length of Raven Way, Colchester in the City of Colchester, from its junction with Mill Road to its end a distance of approximately 150m.

2. To temporarily introduce a ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping’ in the above length of road for the duration of the closure only.

The Essex County Council (Colchester City) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019” will be temporarily amended to include the temporary ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping at Any Time’ restriction and suspend any existing parking and waiting restrictions on the above length of road only. (Sydney Street, Brightlingsea)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Sydney Street, Brightlingsea in the District of Tendring, from its junction with High Street to its junction with Thomas Street a distance of approximately 35m. The closure is scheduled to commence on 9th February 2026 for 5 days, or where stated on a valid permit (AZ7011001469641 – Cadent). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while gas works are undertaken by Cadent.

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Tey Road, Aldham in the City of Colchester, from a point approximately 785m north west of its junction with Rectory Road or a distance of approximately 10m in a westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 8th February 2026 for 1 day, or where stated on a valid permit (KL701SUD-48-47-080226 – Network Rail Infrastructure Ltd). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network.
