Wiltshire, Multiple Roads, Temporary Closures Due To Various Works

What is happening?

SECTION 14(1) OF THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council intends to make Orders to close temporarily to all traffic:

A) Station Road (Part), Sedgehill and Semley; from its junction with A350 to its property known as Semley Inn Larc Services Station to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out drain patch lining and associated works.

Alternative route via Station Road (unaffected length) – C309 – C62 – A350 and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 25 February 2026 and the closure will be required between the hours of 09:00 and 16:00 for 1 day. B) C64 (Part), Wily; for a distance of approximately 50m either side of the level crossing to enable Network Rail to carry out level crossing and associated works.

Alternative route via road (unaffected length) – B3089 – C227 – C276 – A303 – C13 – C64 (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 25 February 2026 and the works will be required between the hours of 23:30 and 05:30 for 2 nights. C) Oxenwood Close, Amesbury; from its junction with A345 for its entire length to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out reactive patching and other works. No alternative route is available. This Order will come into operation on 26 February 2026 and the closure will be required between the hours of 09:00 and 18:00 for 1 day. D) C12 (Part), Berwick St John; from its junction with Back Lane for a distance of approximately 600m in a south easterly direction to enable Scottish and Southern Power Distribution to carry out overhead connections and associated works.

Alternative route via C12 (unaffected length) – C64 – A30 – C12 (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 25 February 2026 and the closure will be required between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00 for 1 day. E) Brown Street (Part), Salisbury; from its junction with Winchester Street to its junction with Milford Street.

F) Milford Street (Part), Salisbury; from its junction with New Canal to its junction with Pennyfarthing Street to enable Wessex Water to carry out non highway remedial defect and associated works. Alternative route via – Endless Street – Salt Lane – St Edmunds Church Street – Pennyfarthing Street – Gigant Street – Trinity Street – Brown Street – St Anns Street – St Johns Street. Alternative route HGV via New Canal – High Street – Silver Street – Minster Street – Castle Street – A36 – A338 – Exeter Street – St Johns Street – Catherine Street. This Order will come into operation on 24 February 2026 and the closure will be required between the hours of 19:00 and 06:00 for 2 days. G) U872401 (Part), Sedgehill and Semley; from a point approximately 45m east of its junction with Butlers Lane for a distance of approximately 100m in a south easterly direction to enable Wessex Water to carry out remedial works.

Alternative route via U872401 (unaffected length) – C310 – A350 – Butlers Lane and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 28 February 2026 and the closure will be required between the hours of 19:00 and 18:00 for 1 day. Notice is also given that the Wiltshire Council has made Orders to close temporarily to all traffic:

H) Water Lane (Part), Salisbury; from its junction with Fisherton Street to its junction with Churchfields Road to enable Scottish and Southern Power Distribution to carry out cable disconnection and associated works.

Alternative route via Fisherton Street – South Western Road – Churchfields Road and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 25 January 2026 and the closure will be required until 27 February 2026. I) A338 (Part), Allington; from its junction with Bourne View for a distance of approximately 620m in a northerly direction to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out reactive patching and other associated works.

Alternative route via A338 (unaffected length) – A303 – A345 – A360 – A338 (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 04 February 2026 and the closure will be required between the hours of 19:00 and 06:00 for 3 nights. J) A30 (Part), Salisbury; from its junction with A36 to its junction with The Brambles to enable National Highways to carry out installation and upgrade of traffic signal equipment on A36 and associated works.

Alternative route via A30 (unaffected length) – A303 – A345 – A36 and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 02 February 2026 and the closure will be required between the hours of 20:00 and 06:00 until 04 February 2026. K) Shute End Road (Part), Clarendon Park and Alderbury; from its junction with C324 to its junction with UC 172701 to enable Wessex Water to carry out sewer rising main upgrade and associated works.

Alternative route via UC 172701 – C324 and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 02 February 2026 and the closure will be required until 27 February 2026. For further information please contact Wessex Water on 0345 6004600.

Orders A) to K) will have a maximum duration of 18 months.

The closures and diversion routes will be clearly indicated by traffic signs.

It is anticipated that the works will take the stated duration to complete depending upon weather conditions. Access will be maintained for residents and businesses where possible, although delays are likely due to the nature of the works.

THE COUNTY OF WILTSHIRE (VARIOUS ROADS, VARIOUS PARISHES) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER (NO.63) 2026

Notice is hereby given that Wiltshire Council has made an Order to close temporarily, to all vehicles, the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this notice. The order is required to enable carriageway micro asphalt and associated maintenance works and will be operative from 02 February 2026 for a maximum period of 18 months. The closures are anticipated to be up to 5 days but only when traffic signs are in position and only for as long as is necessitated by the works. It is anticipated that advance signs will be deployed 4 weeks before closure dates. Access will be maintained where possible although delays are likely due to the nature of the works. The closures are anticipated to take place between 02 February 2026 and 27 March 2026.

  2. via Milston Road – Alvington – Avon Banks – High Street.

    14–18. No alternative route is available.

  3. via Riverbourne Road.

    20–25. No alternative route is available.

  4. via Tollgate Road – A36 – New Petersfinger Road – Milford Mill Road – Manor Farm Road – Laverstock Road – Kelsey Road.

Byway 94 (Part), Winterslow; from its junction with The Street for a distance of approximately 45m in a south easterly direction to enable installation of new manhole for sewer connection and associated drainage pipes.

Alternative route via existing public highways and rights of way.

The closure and diversion route will be clearly indicated by traffic signs.

This Order will come into operation on 02 February 2026 and it is anticipated that the closure will be required until 06 February 2026. Access will be maintained where possible although delays are likely due to the nature of the works.

The Order will have a maximum duration of 6 months.

Notice is hereby given that Wiltshire Council proposes to make the above Orders under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and the Traffic Management Act 2004 the effect of which will be as follows:

ORDER 1 – To revoke The County of Wiltshire (Various Roads, Laverstock and Ford) (Prohibition and Restriction of Waiting) Order 2016 and re-enact it, in part in the above Order 1, the effect of which will be to remove No Waiting Monday to Friday 8am – 9.30am and 2pm to 4pm and replace with No Waiting Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm on:

  • St Thomas Way, Laverstock and Ford – both sides:

    i) from its junction with Sycamore Drive for a distance of 12 metres in an easterly direction

    ii) from a point 45 metres east of its junction with Sycamore Drive for a distance of 89 metres in an easterly direction

  • Sycamore Drive, Laverstock and Ford – east side:

    i) from its junction with Ash Crescent for a distance of 31 metres in a northerly direction

    ii) east side – from a point 35 metres north of its junction with Ash Crescent for a distance of 33 metres in a northerly direction

    iii) east side – from a point 25 metres south of its junction with St Thomas Way to a point 14 metres north of that junction

  • Sycamore Drive, Laverstock and Ford – west side:

    from a point 14 metres north of its junction with St Thomas Way for a distance of 147 metres in a southerly direction to its junction with Ash Crescent.

ORDER 2 – To revoke The County of Wiltshire (Various Roads, Laverstock and Ford) (Prohibition and Restriction of Waiting, Loading and Unloading) Order 2024 and re-enact it in the above Order 2, the effect of which will be to introduce No Waiting At Any Time on:

  • Riverbourne Road, Laverstock and Ford – west side:

    from its junction with Queen Manor Road for a distance of 61 metres in a south easterly direction

ORDER 3 – To revoke The County of Wiltshire (Various Roads, Downton) (Prohibition of Waiting) Order 2016 and re-enact it in the above Order 3, the effect of which will be to retain existing restrictions as previously made on the ground.

THE COUNTY OF WILTSHIRE (SOUTHERN WILTSHIRE) (OFF STREET PARKING PLACES) ORDER 2022 (AMENDMENT NO.5) ORDER 2026

Notice is hereby given that Wiltshire Council proposes to make the above Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and the Traffic Management Act 2004 the effect of which will be to amend The County of Wiltshire (Southern Wiltshire) (Off Street Parking Places) Order 2022 to make the following changes:

(a) The removal of Millstream Coach Park, Salisbury from the Order for administrative purposes

(b) The introduction of Bourne Hill Gardens Car Park, Salisbury with a maximum stay of 2 hours and no return within 1 hour for loading and unloading, and loading bays for permit holders.

(c) The amendment of Cathedral Coach Drop Off, Salisbury to amend “other conditions of use” to allow any vehicle to wait for up to 30 minutes for loading, no return within 1 hour.

(d) The amendment of Culver Street Shoppers Car Park, Salisbury to allow vehicles displaying a valid Residents Zone F permit issued to Nos. 1–65 Rampart Road and Nos. 1–7 Windsor Street to be exempt from the time limit.
