What is happening?

NORTHUMBERLAND COUNTY COUNCIL

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 –
SECTION 14(1)
C426 DOCK ROAD TWEEDMOUTH
(TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Northumberland County Council intends to make an Order to prohibit the use by vehicular traffic on that section of the C426 Dock Road Tweedmouth outside the front of number 39 Dock Road heading in a south easterly direction for a length of 85 metres in the County of Northumberland.

The Order is to be effective from the 16th February 2026 until the 27th March 2026.

It is expected that the road will only be closed from the 16th February 2026 until the 6th March 2026 and that it will be closed at all times during this period; however, the order will remain in place until 27th March 2026.

An alternative route will be available for use whilst the TTRO is in force being C426, C424, A1167 and vice-versa and should the need arise changes may be made to the alternative routes, where possible these changes will be signposted accordingly.

The closure has been requested by United Living Infrastructure on behalf of Northumbrian Water to excavate to install a cross connection between two mains. In order to minimise future disruption, other contractors may be undertaking works throughout the duration of this Order.

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 –

U113 CEMETERY LANE TWEEDMOUTH
(TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Northumberland County Council intends to make an Order to prohibit the use by vehicular traffic on that section of the U113 Cemetery Lane Tweedmouth from its junction with A1167 for its entire length in the County of Northumberland.

The Order is to be effective from the 16th February 2026 until the 16th August 2026.

It is expected that the road will only be closed from the 16th February 2026 until the 13th March 2026 between the hours of 08:00 until 17:00 during this period, however, the order will remain in place until 16thAugust 2026.

The alternative route for vehicular traffic will be via the B6354, A1167 and vice-versa and should the need arise changes may be made to the alternative routes, where possible these changes will be signposted accordingly.

The closure has been requested by Northumberland County Council to carry out civils and resurfacing works. In order to minimise future disruption, other contractors may be undertaking works throughout the duration of this Order.

U1002 BLAKELAW JUNCTION
TO CAMPFIELD JUNCTION
CORNHILL-ON-TWEED
(TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Northumberland County Council intends to make an Order to prohibit the use by vehicular traffic on that section of the U1002 Blakelaw Junction to Campfield Junction Cornhill-on-Tweed from its junction with C21 West Learmouth Junction to Bareless Junction heading in a southerly direction for a distance 220 metres in the County of Northumberland.

The Order is to be effective from the 23rd February 2026 until the 2nd March 2026.

It is expected that the road will only be closed on the 23rd February 2026 between the hours of 08:00 & 18:00 during this period; however, the order will remain in place until 2nd March 2026.

An alternative route will be available for use whilst the TTRO is in force being via U1002, C23, C20, C21 and vice-versa and should the need arise changes may be made to the alternative routes, where possible these changes will be signposted accordingly.

The closure has been requested by Circet UK to install a pole. In order to minimise future disruption, other contractors may be undertaking works throughout the duration of this Order.

The above Order, made on 13th August 2025, was confirmed on 14th January 2026, and will modify the definitive map and statement for the area by:

Former Berwick Borough

Restricted Byway/Bridleway No 10 (Parish of Bamburgh)

Upgrading thereto to restricted byway status, existing Public Bridleway No 10, from Byway Open to All Traffic No 20, 250 metres west of Saddlershall (O.S. Grid Ref NU 1923 3321), in a general southwesterly direction for a distance of 620 metres, to the C64 road, 875 metres east of East Burton Bungalow (NU 1890 3285).

Byway Open to All Traffic No 20 (Parish of Bamburgh)

The Definitive Statement for this existing public right of way will be amended to reflect the upgrade of Bridleway No 10 to Restricted Byway.

Grid Ref NU 1060 3380), in a north-westerly direction for a distance of 172 metres, to a junction with Public Footpath No 1 and Public Bridleway No 13, at the Belford Burn (NU 1048 3392).
