Sandwell: Newton Road & High Street, West Bromwich - Temporary Traffic Regulations

What is happening?

SANDWELL METROPOLITAN BOROUGH COUNCIL

The Borough Council of Sandwell (Newton Road, West Bromwich)
(Temporary Layby Closure) Order 2026
intends to temporarily prohibit vehicles from proceeding via the layby located on the western carriageway of Newton Road, 560 metres from its junction with Forge Lane, for a distance of 238 metres (the layby is known as Newton Road Layby and is adjacent to Churchfields Playing Fields and Steven’s Plantation). No diversion route will be signed. The maximum duration is 18 months but the work is expected to be completed by 13/02/2026, effective from 12/02/2026 (7pm - 6am only). The Borough Council of Sandwell (High Street, West Bromwich)
(Temporary Cylce Lane Closure) Order 2026 intends to temporarily prohibit cyclists from proceeding along the cycle lane from the dividing line of property Nos. 27/29 to outside the Dental Clinic, High Street, West Bromwich. Cyclists will be requested to dismount on either approach to the closed area and re-join the cycle lane at the end of the works. The maximum duration is 18 months but the work is expected to be completed by 11/02/2026 effective from 09/02/2026 (24hr).
