What is happening?

WAKEFIELD COUNCIL

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – SECTION 14
(BLACKER LANE, WAKEFIELD)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER (NO 33) 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield has made an Order on traffic management grounds to install meter to be carried out as follows:-

ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Blacker Lane, Wakefield for approximately 30 metres. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Blacker Lane.

ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: Blacker Lane, Cliff Road, Bretton Lane, Branch Road, Denby Dale Road & vice versa.

PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 4th February 2026 at 08.00 hours to 12th February 2026 at 18.00 hours or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner.

Access to the premises on the closed length of road will be maintained whenever possible.

(BROAD ACRES, DURKAR)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER (NO 34) 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield has made an Order on traffic management grounds for new electrical connection to be carried out as follows:-

ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Broad Acres, Durkar for approximately 10 metres. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Broad Acres.

ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: Broad Acres, Green Acres, Durkar Low Lane & vice versa.

PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 4th February 2026 to 6th March 2026 or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner.

Access to the premises on the closed length of road will be maintained whenever possible.

(SANDY LANE, MIDDLESTOWN)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER (NO 39) 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield intend to make an Order on traffic management grounds for new water supply connection to be carried out as follows:-

ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Sandy Lane, Middlestown from number 53 Sandy Lane to number 60 Sandy Lane. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Sandy Lane.

ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: Low Lane, New Lane & vice versa.

PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 16th February 2026 to 20th February 2026 or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner.

Access to the premises on the closed length of road will be maintained whenever possible.

(WRENTHORPE ROAD, WAKEFIELD)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER (NO 40) 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield intend to make an Order on traffic management grounds for gas mains replacement to be carried out as follows:-

ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Wrenthorpe Road, Wakefield one way closure from the junction of Westways to the junction of Bradford Road. No access onto Westways from Wrenthorpe Road and no access onto Wrenthorpe Road from Bradford Road. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Wrenthorpe Road.

ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: Bradford Road, Brandy Carr Road, Jerry Clay Lane, Wrenthorpe Lane, Wrenthorpe Road, Bradford Road, Wrenthorpe Road.

PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 16th February 2026 to 20th February 2026 or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner.

Access to the premises on the closed length of road will be maintained whenever possible.

(WESTWAYS, WRENTHORPE)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER (NO 41) 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield intend to make an Order on traffic management grounds for gas mains replacement to be carried out as follows:-

ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Westways, Wrenthorpe one way closure from the junction of Wrenthorpe Road at the side of 47a. No access onto Westways from Wrenthorpe Road and no access onto Wrenthorpe Road from Bradford Road. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Westways.

ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: Bradford Road, Brandy Carr Road, Jerry Clay Lane, Wrenthorpe Lane, Wrenthorpe Road, Rodger Lane, Valley Crescent, Valley Drive and Bradford Road, Wrenthorpe Road, Rodger Lane, Valley Crescent, Valley Drive.

PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 16th February 2026 to 20th February 2026 or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner.

Access to the premises on the closed length of road will be maintained whenever possible.

(WOOLLEY MILL LANE, NOTTON)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER (NO 42) 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield intend to make an Order on traffic management grounds to complete telecoms works and install new ducting to be carried out as follows:-

ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Woolley Mill Lane, Notton from Barnsley Road for approximately 200 metres. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Woolley Mill Lane.

ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: Barnsley Road, George Lane & vice versa.

PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 16th February 2026 to 18th February 2026 road closed 08.00 hours to 18.00 hours, open at all other times or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner.

Access to the premises on the closed length of road will be maintained whenever possible.
