Greenwood Road - Traffic Regulation Prohibition of Waiting
What is happening?
THE CITY OF SUNDERLAND (GREENWOOD ROAD PROHIBITION OF WAITING) TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2026
NOTICE is given that on 28th January 2026 Sunderland City Council made an Order under Sections 1, 2, 4, 122 and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, by virtue of the Traffic Management Act 2004 and all other enabling powers and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 of the Act. The effect of the Order which comes into effect on 30th January 2026 is introduce a no waiting at any time restriction on the west side of Greenwood Road from a point 9.8 metres north of the extended party property boundary of 58 & 60 Greenwood Road, for a distance of 5.0 metres in a northerly direction. Documents giving more detailed particulars of the Order may be inspected during normal opening hours at City Hall, Plater Way, Sunderland SR1 3AA, until six weeks have elapsed from the date on which the Order is made or as the case may be, the Council decides not to proceed to make the Order. Any person wishing to question the validity of the Order or of any of its provisions on the grounds that it or they are not within the powers conferred by the Act or on the grounds that any requirement of that Act or of any instrument made under the Act has not been complied with may within six weeks from the date on which the Order is made apply for the purpose to the High Court.
