SECTION 14 – THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

NOTICE OF TRAFFIC ORDERS FOR TEMPORARY ROAD/FOOTPATH CLOSURES AND RESTRICTIONS

Notice is given that SWINDON BOROUGH COUNCIL made the following orders:

(STRO01259 Alderlay Road) This Order is being introduced for THAMES WATER and will impose a prohibition of driving on Alderlay Road (westbound carriageway) at the junction with Chastleton Road. Traffic to be diverted via Chastleton Road, Fenton Avenue and Willington Road. The Order comes into force on the 24 February 2026 for 6 months but works are expected to take place between 24 to 26 February 2026.

(STRO01256 Hinton Parva Lane, Hinton Parva) This Order is being introduced for THAMES WATER and will impose a prohibition of driving on Hinton Parva Lane between City Corner and Bodyhorse Hill. Traffic to be diverted via Bodyhorse Hill, City Corner and vice versa. The Order comes into force on the 16 February 2026 for 6 months but works are expected to take place between 16 to 18 February 2026.

(STRO01252 Shrivenham Road, Highworth) This Order is being introduced for WALES AND WEST and will impose a prohibition of driving on Shrivenham Road between the junctions with Brewery Street and Stonefield Drive. Traffic to be diverted via A361 Swindon Road, A361 Highworth Road, Highworth Road, Stratton St Margaret, Hobley Drive, Swindon Road, Greenbridge Roundabout, Oxford Road, A420, Highworth Road and vice versa. The Order comes into force on the 16 February 2026 for 6 months but works are expected to take place between 16 to 20 February 2026.

(STRO01251 May's Lane, Chiseldon) This Order is being introduced for WORKS TO MAY COTTAGE and will impose a prohibition of driving on May's Lane, Chiseldon, at May Cottage. Traffic to be diverted via Turnball, Hodson Road, New Road and vice versa. The Order comes into force on the 16 February 2026 for 6 months but it is expected works will be completed by the 2 March 2026.

(STRO01249 Footpath at Windmill Hill Business Park, Swindon) This Order is being introduced for SBC MAINTENANCE WORKS and will impose a temporary closure of the footpath between Hook Street and Windmill Hill Business Park on Whitehill Way. Pedestrians to be diverted via the walkway which begins from the underpass adjacent to Windmill Business Park toward Rocon Heath Way, to the roundabout, and then continue toward Hook, along Rocon Heath Way, to Kingsley Way, to King Henry Drive, Hook Street and vice versa. The Order comes into force on the 23 February 2026 for 6 months but works are expected to take place between 23 February to 11 March 2026.

(STRO01194 Gipsy Lane and Bridge End Road, Swindon)

This Order is being introduced for SBC RESURFACING and will impose a prohibition of driving on Gipsy Lane and Bridge End Road between Elgin Drive Roundabout and Green Road Cycle Path. Traffic to be diverted via B4143, A4311, B4006 Beechcroft Road, B4006 Ermin Street, B4006, Hobley Drive, Swindon Road and Bridge End Road. The Order comes into force on the 5 February 2026 for 18 months but works are expected to take place overnight between 5 to 9 February 2026.

(STRO01245 Hyde Road, Stratton)

This Order is being introduced for THAMES WATER and will impose a prohibition of driving on Hyde Road between Beechcroft Road and Ridgeway Road. Traffic to be diverted via B4006 Beechcroft Road, A419, A4311 Cricklade Road and vice versa. The Order comes into force on the 24 February 2026 for 6 months but works are expected to take place between 24 to 26 February 2026.

(STRO01241 Eastrop, Highworth)

This Order is being introduced for OPENREACH and will impose a restriction on parking on B4019 Eastrop opposite No’s 9 to 13. The Order comes into force on the 11 February 2026 for 6 months but it is anticipated works will be completed by the 12 February 2026.

(STRO01206 Galsworthy Close, Liden)

This Order is being introduced for SSEN and will impose a temporary closure of the footway in Galsworthy Close in front of properties 44 to 74. Pedestrian to use the footway to the rear of Galsworthy Close. The Order comes into force on the 23 February 2026 for 6 months but it anticipated works will be completed by the 10 March 2026.

(STRO01195 Westcott Place, Swindon)

This Order is being introduced for SBC RESURFACING and will impose a prohibition of driving on B4289 Westcott Place between Manor Road and Faringdon Road. Traffic to be diverted via A420 Wootton Bassett Road, B4006 Great Western Way, B4289 Kemble Drive, B4289 Broadgreen Road and Park Lane. The Order comes into force on the 16 February 2026 for 18 months but works are expected to take place between 16 to 27 February 2026.

(STRO01192 County Road, Swindon)

This Order is being introduced for SBC RESURFACING and will impose a prohibition of driving on A4289 County Road between Gambia Street and Transfer Bridges. Traffic to be diverted via A4312 Oxford Way, A4312 Drakes Way and A4312 Queens Drive. The Order comes into force on the 27 January 2026 for 18 months but works are expected to take place between 27 to 30 January 2026.

(STRO01138 Aylesbury Street, Swindon)

This Order is being introduced for SBC RESURFACING and will impose a prohibition of driving on Aylesbury Street between Station Road and Manchester Road. Traffic to be diverted via Manchester Road, Milford Street, Gloucester Street and Station Road. The Order comes into force on the 27 January 2026 for 18 months but works are expected to take place between 27 to 30 January 2026.

(STRO01262 Old Vicarage Lane, South Marston)

This Order is being introduced for TAYLOR WIMPEY HOMES and will impose a temporary closure and restricted speed limit on Old Vicarage Lane between Nightingale Lane and A420 Junction. Traffic to be diverted via A420, Thornhill Road and vice versa. The Order comes into force on the 1 February 2026 for 12 months but works will be completed by the 18 December 2026.
