NOTICE OF CONFIRMATION OF A MODIFICATION ORDER

WATERY LANE FROM HAUNDERS LANE TO LIVERPOOL ROAD, MUCH HOOLE
Definitive Map Modification Order 2023
On the 11 December 2025 the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs confirmed the above Order.
The effect of the Order as confirmed is to modify the Definitive Map and Statement of Public Rights of Way for the area, by adding a bridleway from point B to run in a generally easterly direction immediately to the south of a hedge over a strip of land which consists largely of a watercourse between the hedge line and field edge footpath (Footpath 7-8-FP2). The route is crossed by Footpath 7-8-FP2 (point C) and continues in a broadly east south easterly direction along the watercourse through to Liverpool Road (A59) (point D).
A copy of the Order and the Order Map may be seen free of charge at the offices of South Ribble Borough Council, and at my offices from 9am to 5pm on weekdays. Copies of the order and map may be bought there at the price of £1.00.

The Order took effect on the 11 December 2025, but if a person aggrieved by the Order desires to question the validity on the grounds that it is not within the powers of Section 53 of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981, or that any of the requirements of Schedule 15 to the Act have not been complied with in relation to the Order, he may, under Paragraph 11 of Schedule 15 to the Act, within 42 days from the date of publication of this Notice, make an application for the purpose to the High Court.
