West Paddock - Public Path Diversion Order
What is happening?
NOTICE OF CONFIRMATION OF PUBLIC PATH ORDER
TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING ACT 1990 SECTION 257
AND PARAGRAPH 7 OF SCHEDULE 14
SOUTH RIBBLE BOROUGH COUNCIL
SOUTH RIBBLE BOROUGH COUNCIL (CENTURION WAY, FARINGTON) PUBLIC PATH DIVERSION ORDER 2025
On 21 January 2026 South Ribble Borough Council confirmed the above order. The effect of the order as confirmed is to divert sections of:
(a) Public Footpath FP0704007 from point A to point B for a distance of 160 metres as shown by a bold black line marked A-B on the order map
(b) Public Bridleway BW0704031 from point C to point D for a distance of 30 metres as shown by a bold black line marked C-D on the order map
(c) Public Bridleway BW0704031 from point E to point H for a distance of 30 metres and part of Public Bridleway BW0704030 to point F for a distance of 215 metres as shown by a bold black line marked E-H-F on the order map
(d) Public Bridleway BW0704024 from point G to point H for a distance of 5 metres as shown by a bold black line marked G-H on the order map
and create an alternative footpath or bridleway instead on a line:
(i) running from point A to point C for a distance of 135 metres as shown by bold black dashes marked A-C on the order map
(ii) running from point C to point D for a distance of 25 metres as shown by bold back dashes marked C-D on the order map. This alternative highway will be public bridleway with a width of 3 metres.
(iii) Running from point E to point G for a distance of 30 metres and then to point F for a
distance of 215 metres as shown by bold back dashes marked E-G-F on the order map. This alternative highway will be public bridleway with a width of 3 metres
A copy of the confirmed order and the order map may be seen free of charge in reception at the Civic Centre West Paddock Leyland Lancashire PR25 1DH between the hours of 9.00am to 5.00pm Monday to Friday (inclusive). Copies of the Order and map may be bought there at a
reasonable price.
This order comes into force when South Ribble Borough Council certifies that the terms of Article 2 of the order have been complied with but if any person aggrieved by the order desires to question its validity or that of any provision contained in it on the ground that it is not within the
powers of the above Act, or on the ground that any requirement of the Act or any regulation made under it has not been complied with in relation to the confirmation of the Order, he or she may apply to the High Court for any of these purposes under Section 287 of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990 within 6 weeks from the date on which notice is first published as required by paragraph 7 of Schedule 14 to that Act.
