Blackpool Rd - Temporary Prohibition Of Through Traffic
What is happening?

(BLACKPOOL ROAD, POULTON-LE-FYLDE, WYRE BOROUGH)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Lancashire County Council intend to make an Order under Section 14(1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic on the roads set out in this notice.
1. No person shall cause any motor vehicle to proceed over that length of Blackpool Road, Poulton-Le-Fylde from outside number 308 to outside number 306.
2. Nothing in this order shall apply to persons engaged in the carrying out of the works.
3. The prohibition will be operative from 2300 hours on Friday 20th February 2026 until 0700 hours on Saturday 21st February 2026 or until completion of the works within this period. Access for emergency services will be maintained.
4. Vehicular access for residents will be maintained whenever and wherever possible. Pedestrian access to properties will always be maintained.
5. An alternative route for vehicular traffic affected by the closure is via:-
`Blackpool Old Road B5268 - Garstang Road West A586 - Hardhorn Road A588 - Blackpool Old Road B5267 – Queensway B5267 - Tithebarn Street B5267 - Poulton Road - Blackpool Road B5268 and vice versa.
The temporary prohibition is necessary to allow level crossing testing works to be carried out by Network Rail.
