(Temporary Traffic Regulation) Order 2026
NOTICE is hereby given that WSCC made an Order under the
Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to:
(i) temporarily close, introduce a temporary prohibition of waiting at anytime on the following roads throughout their entire lengths unless otherwise stated. This Order will also introduce a temporary 30MPH speed limit on major ‘A’ class roads and a temporary 20MPH speed limit on minor and non-classified roads:-
B2036, between Lucerne Drive roundabout junction and the Surrey County Boundary;
Albany Road; Alpha Road; Ashdown Drive/Weald Drive; Black
Dog Walk; Bramber Close; Broadford Rise; Brock Road; Buckswood Drive; Bycroft Way; Canterbury Road; Chaffinch
Close; Chatfields: Church Street; Cotswold Close; Crossways;
Ewhurst Road; Falcon Close; Farm Close; Firle Close; Five Acres; Forge Road; Fountains Close; Furnace Drive; Gales Place; Goldfinch Close; Hazelwick Avenue (Northbound)/(Southbound), between The Birches and Northgate roundabout junction; Heron Close; Ifield Avenue; Jackdaw Close; Kestrel Close;
Kingscote Hill; Lark Rise; Leopold Road; Maiden Lane; The

(ii) temporarily close sections of urban footpaths:-
E145, Coachmans Drive to Crawley Avenue; Crawley Avenue cycle track; Southgate Avenue subway; and E166, Chestnut Walk; Fountains Close; Gossops Parade; Langley Parade; Langley Place to Poplar Close; Lime Close; Lime Close to Maple Close; Maple Close; Maple Close to Chestnut Walk; Maple Close to Langley Place; Maple Close to Poplar Close; Pine Close; Pine Close to Martyrs Avenue; Poplar Close; Rushetts Place to
Langley Parade; Rushetts Road to Lime Close; Tintern Road; Tinturn Road to Fountains Close; Tinturn Road to Woburn Road; Woburn Road; and E172, Haslett Avenue to Station Road.
These restrictions are needed to protect public safety whilst the 2026 highway maintenance programme is carried out. It is expected that the affected roads will be closed for up to 3 days. 30MPH speed limits may be required during the works and between phases of the works. The exact dates and duration of the works and the traffic management in each location will be confirmed in advance locally nearer the time.
The Order will come into effect on 1 February 2026 and remain in force for up to 18 months, or until the works programme is completed, whichever is earlier.
During the works alternative routes for vehicles and/or pedestrians will be indicated on site. Access to properties on the affected length of road will be maintained at all times.
