Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.

DARTFORD AREA

Alkerden Lane, Swanscombe, DA10 0EL (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

Because of planing, resurfacing, white lining works for a new bus lane into the Whitecliffe Development, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Alkerden Lane, Swanscombe, on or after 16th February 2026 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between Gilbert Close and Childs Crescent.

The alternative route is via Alkerden Lane, Manor Road, Swanscombe Street, Stanhope Road, High Street, A226 London Road, B255 St Clements Way, Mounts Road and vice versa.

The Order will be effective when required on Sunday 22 February 2026. The restrictions/prohibitions specified in this notice will apply in the direction and only at such times as indicated by traffic signs in operation.

Nothing in the Order will apply to:

• Any Vehicle being used for Ambulance purposes, Coastguard/RNLI, Fire Brigade or Police services

• Anything done by a Statutory Undertaker vehicle in connection with an emergency repair

• Anything done with the permission or at the direction of an Event Organiser or a Police Constable in Uniform
