Norfolk, Multiple Speed Limit Changes

THE NORFOLK COUNTY COUNCIL

(BARNHAM BROOM, BRANDON PRAVA, CARLETON FOREHOE, COSTON, KIMBERLEY, RUNHALL, WELBORNE, WICKLEWOOD AND WYMONDHAM VARIOUS ROADS)

SPEED LIMIT ORDERS 2026

The Norfolk County Council propose to make the following Orders under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984:

The Norfolk County Council (Barnham Broom, Brandon Prava, Coston, Runhall and Welborne, Various Roads) (20 mph Speed Limit) Order 2026

The effect of this Order will be to:

1. Prohibit any motor vehicle from exceeding a 20 miles per hour along the following lengths of road:

The proposed 20mph speed restriction on the C167 Bell Road, C167 Honingham Road, C162 Mill Road/Norwich Road and C773 Spur Road will be a change to the existing 30mph speed limit. This change requires the variation specified below.

The Norfolk County Council (Barnham Broom, Various Roads) (30 mph Speed Limit) Consolidation and Variation Order 2026

The effect of this Order will be to:

1. Consolidate The Norfolk County Council (Barnham Broom) (30mph Speed Limit) Consolidation Order 2019 (“the 2019 Order”) whereby the 2019 Order will remain unchanged except as per the variations specified below; and

2. Vary the 2019 Order by removing the existing references to C162 Mill Road/Norwich Road, U7016/14 Bell Road and the U7P8198 Spur Road and inserting the following lengths of road:

The proposed 30mph speed restriction on the C167 Honingham Road, C167 Bell Road/Rush Green and C176 Wymondham Road will be a change to the existing 60mph restriction.

The Norfolk County Council (Brandon Prava, Various Roads) (20 mph Speed Limit) Order 2026

The effect of this Order will be to:

1. Prohibit any motor vehicle from exceeding a 20 miles per hour along the following lengths of road:

The proposed 20mph speed restriction along this length of road will result in a reduction of 1534 metres to the current 30mph restriction along this length of road to allow for the proposed 20mph speed restriction as specified in the proposed The Norfolk County Council (Brandon Prava, Coston, Runhall and Welborne, Various Roads) (20 mph Speed Limit) Order 2025.

The Norfolk County Council (Wicklewood and Wymondham, Various Roads) (30 mph Speed Limit) Consolidation and Variation Order 2026

The effect of this Order will be to:

1. Consolidate The Norfolk County Council (Wicklewood) (30mph Speed Limit) Order 1997 (“the 1997 Order”) whereby the existing Order will remain unchanged except as per the variations specified below; and

2. Vary the 1997 Order by removing the following length of road; and

1. Vary the 1997 Order by inserting the following lengths of road:

The proposed 30mph speed restriction on these lengths of road will be a change from the existing 60mph national speed limit.

The Norfolk County Council (Wymondham, Various Roads) (30mph Speed Limit) Consolidation and Variation Order 2026

1. Consolidate The Norfolk County Council (Wymondham, Various Roads) (30mph Speed Limit) Consolidation Order 2015 (“the 2015 Consolidation Order”) whereby the 2015 Consolidation Order will remain unchanged except as per the variations specified below; and

2. Vary the 2015 Consolidation Order by removing the existing reference to B1135/180 Tuttles Lane East and inserting the following lengths of road:

The proposed 30mph speed restriction on the B1135 Chapel Lane/Tuttles Lane West/Tuttles Lane East will be a change from the existing 60mph restriction on the B1135 Chapel Lane from its junction with the B1135 Crownthorpe Road and the C166 Wymondham Road to a point 85 metres west of its junction with the C700 Chapel Lane, and the reaming existing 40mph restriction.

The proposal 30mph speed restriction on C700 Chapel Lane and C176 Barnham Broom Road will be a change from the existing 40mph restriction.

The Norfolk County Council (Kimberley and Carleton Forehoe, Wymondham, Various Roads) (30mph Speed Limit) Order 2026

The effect of this Order will be to:

1. Prohibit any motor vehicle from exceeding a 30 miles per hour along the following lengths of road:

The proposed 30mph speed restriction on the C176 Barnham Broom Road will be a change from the existing 60mph national speed restriction.

The proposed 30mph speed restriction on the B1135 Dereham Road, the B1108 Norwich Road/Station Road/Hingham Road and B1135 Wymondham Road will be a change from the existing 40mph speed restriction.

The Norfolk County Council (Barnham Broom, Kimberley and Carleton Forehoe, Wicklewood, Various Roads) (40mph Speed Limit) Consolidation and Variation Order 2026

The effect of this Order will be to:

1. Consolidate The Norfolk County Council (Kimberley, Various Roads) (40mph Speed Limit) Order 2011 (“the 2011 Order”) whereby the 2011 Order will remain unchanged except as per the variations specified below; and

2. Vary the 2011 Order to remove the existing reference to the B1135 Dereham Road/Norwich Road, the B1108 Norwich Road/Station Road/Hingham Road and the B1135 Wymondham Road and inserting the following lengths of road:

The proposed 40mph speed restriction will be a change from the existing 60mph national speed restriction.

The Norfolk County Council (Wymondham, Various Roads) (40mph Speed Limit) Consolidation and Variation Order 2026

The effect of this Order will be to:

1. Consolidate The Norfolk County Council (Wymondham, Various Roads) (40 m.p.h. Speed Limit) Order 2015 (“the 2015 Order”) whereby the 2015 Order will remain unchanged except as per the variations specified below; and

2. Vary the 2015 Order by removing the references to the B1135/180 Tuttles Lane East/B1135/190 Tuttles Lane West, C700 Chapel Lane and C176 Barnham Broom Road and inserting the following length of road:

The proposed 40mph speed restriction will be a change from the existing 60mph national speed restriction.

The Norfolk County Council (Barnham Broom, Kimberley and Carleton Forehoe, Various Roads) (50 mph Speed Limit) Order 2026

The effect of this Order will be to:

1. Prohibit any motor vehicle from exceeding a 50 miles per hour along the following lengths of road:

The proposed 50mph speed restriction will be a change from the existing 60mph national speed limit.
