Blackpool Borough, Preston New Road - Temporary Prohibition of Traffic, to allow for the proposed works.

THE BOROUGH OF BLACKPOOL

(PRESTON NEW ROAD) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC)  ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Blackpool Borough Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this Notice, to make the above Order under Section 14(1(a)) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, and all other enabling powers to facilitate essential carriage re-surfacing works. The effect of the Order will be to:

Phase 1

a.  Prohibit any vehicle from entering or proceeding in an eastward direction along the length of Preston New Road from its junction with Waterloo Road to Briercliffe Avenue, inclusive of the left-turn slip lane from Whitegate Drive

b. Prohibit any vehicle from proceeding in any direction along the length of South Park Drive from its junction with Honister Avenue to Preston

New Road

c.  Prohibit any vehicle from turning right onto Preston New Road from Waterloo Road.

d. Prohibit any vehicle from turning right onto South Park Drive from

Preston New Road

e. Prohibit any vehicle from continuing eastward on Preston New Road from Park Road.

f.  The prohibition is presently programmed to be applied on 16th February 2026 for a period of 14 days between hours of (1900-0500).

Phase 2

a.  Prohibit any vehicle from entering or proceeding in a westward direction along the length of Preston New Road from its junction with Joyce Avenue to its junction with Waterloo Road, inclusive of the southern slip road leading from Preston New Road to Waterloo Road.

b. Prohibit any vehicle at any time to enter or proceed in a southward direction along the length of Waterloo Road from its junction with Preston New Road to its junction with Vicarage Lane.

c.  Prohibit any vehicle at any time to enter or proceed in any direction along the length of Barclay Avenue from its junction with Johnson Road to its junction with Preston New Road.

d. Prohibit any vehicle from turning right onto Preston New Road from its junction with South Park Drive.

e. Prohibit any vehicle at any time to enter or proceed in any direction along the length of Newhouse Road from its junction Waterloo Road to its junction with Sedburgh Avenue.

f.  Prohibit any vehicle from turning left or right onto Newhouse Road from its junction with Waterloo Road.

g.  Prohibit any vehicle from turning right onto Preston New Road from its junction with Joyce Avenue

h. Prohibit any vehicle from continuing westward on Preston New Road from its junction with Cherry Tree Road North

i.   Prohibit any vehicle at any time from turning right onto Preston New Road from its junction with Preston Old Road.

j.   The prohibition is presently programmed to be applied on 16th February 2026 for a period of 14 days between hours of (1900-0500).

Note: Vehicular access to premises shall be maintained wherever possible. Pedestrian access to premises shall be maintained at all times.

The proposed Order will commence on 16 February 2026 and continue in force for eighteen months or until the sooner completion of the aforesaid works. It is expected that the works will take 14 days.
