Tarleton Road - Temporary Road Closure
What is happening?

Portsmouth City Council (Tarleton Road) (Temporary Road Closure) (Temporary Prohibition of Loading and Waiting) (No.22) Order 2026
Notice is hereby given that Portsmouth City Council intends to make the above Order under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991.
The Order comes into operation from 9th February 2026 and the effect will be as follows:
A) TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE AND PROHIBITION OF LOADING AND WAITING
TARLETON ROAD
From its junction with Winchcombe Avenue for 20 metres.
B) REASON FOR THE ORDER
To facilitate Openreach cabling works.
C) DURATION OF THE ORDER
From 9th February 2026 to 13th February 2026 or completion of the works, whichever is sooner.
D) DIVERSION
Vehicles will be diverted from Tarleton Road, Leominster Road, Elkstone Road, Winchcombe Road.
Pedestrian access will be maintained around the works.
Cycles to follow vehicle diversion or dismount and follow pedestrian diversion around the works.
