Blackpool Road - Temporary Prohibition Of Through Traffic
What is happening?
LANCASHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(BLACKPOOL ROAD, POULTON-LE-FYLDE, WYRE BOROUGH)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Lancashire County Council has made an Order under Section 14(1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic on the roads set out in this notice.
1. No person shall cause any motor vehicle to proceed over that length of Blackpool Road, Poulton-Le-Fylde from outside number 306 to outside number 308.
2. Nothing in this order shall apply to persons engaged in the carrying out of the works.
3. The prohibition will be operative from 0030 hours until 1900 hours on Sunday 8th February 2026 or until completion of the works within this period. Access for emergency services will be maintained.
4. Vehicular and pedestrian access for residents will be maintained whenever and wherever possible.
5. An alternative route for vehicular traffic affected by the closure is via:-
Blackpool Old Road B5268 - Garstang Road West A586 - Hardthorn Road A588 - Blackpool Old Road B5267 – Queensway B5267 - Tithebarn Street B5267 - Poulton Road - Blackpool Road B5268 and vice versa.
The temporary prohibition is necessary to allow plain line railway tamping through the level crossing works to be carried out by Network Rail.
