Order 2026



The Council proposes to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, to prohibit all traffic from proceeding on the following length of public bridleway. A 630 metre length of Bridleway No.1, Seaham that extends south and north west from its inception at A1018, the roundabout north of Seaham Grange Ind Estate to enable preparation and electric cable installation works to be undertaken. An alternative route will be available to traffic from the north eastern side of the closure, from the footpath east of A1018 roundabout heading north and north east onto National Cycle Route No.1 bridleway, and south westerly to the south western side of the closure and vice versa. The maximum duration of the Order is 6 months. The proposed works are to commence on 6/2/2026 and are anticipated to be completed in 6 months. On occasions, alternative dates for the closure may be necessary and these will be signed on site accordingly.
