PUBLIC NOTICE
THE WOLVERHAMPTON CITY COUNCIL (WANDERERS AVENUE AND
TALBOT ROAD ) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC)
ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Wolverhampton City Council have made an Order under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as substituted by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, prohibiting vehicles from proceeding on the following stretches of road:
1. Wanderers Avenue closed in both directions at its junction with Dudley Road to its junction with Brevitt Road. It is anticipated that the closure will operate from 26 January 2026 until 1 February 2026.
2. Wanderers Avenue closed in both directions at its junction with Brevitt Road to its junction with Shaw Road. It is anticipated that the closure will operate from 2 February 2026 until 8 February 2026.
3. Shaw Road and Brevitt Road closed at the junctions with Wanderers Avenue. It is anticipated that the closure will operate from 9 February 2026 until 15 February 2026.
4. Wanderers Avenue closed in both directions at its junction with Shaw Road to its junction with Talbot Road. It is anticipated that the closure will operate from 16 February 2026 until 22 February 2026. Vehicular Diversion Route: Hawthorne Road, Brevitt Road, Knox Road and Shaw Road and vice versa.
5. Talbot Road closed in both directions at its junction with Wanderers Avenue to its junction with Shaw Road. It is anticipated that the closure will operate from 23 February 2026 until 16 March 2026. Vehicular Diversion Route: Shaw Road and Wanderers Avenue and vice versa.
The Order may operate for a maximum period of eighteen months, but it is anticipated that the works will be undertaken between the dates specified above.
The Order is required to facilitate gas mains replacement works by Cadent.
