What is happening?

Portsmouth City Council (Moorings Way and Godwit Road) (Temporary Road Closure) (Temporary Prohibition of Loading and Waiting) (No.21) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that Portsmouth City Council intends to make the above Order under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991.
The Order comes into operation from 6th February 2026 and the effect will be as follows:
A) TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE AND PROHIBITION OF LOADING AND WAITING
GODWIT ROAD
From its junction with Moorings way for 20 metres.
B) TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF LOADING AND WAITING
MOORINGS WAY

From outside and opposite No.108 to No.128 Moorings Way (on both sides).
GODWIT ROAD
From its junction with Moorings way to outside and opposite No.98 Godwit Road (on both sides).
C) REASON FOR THE ORDER
To facilitate bus stop improvement works.
D) DURATION OF THE ORDER
From 6th February 2026 to 27th February 2026 or completion of the works, whichever is sooner.
E) DIVERSION
Vehicles will be diverted from Moorings Way, Schooner Way, Godwit Road.
Pedestrian access will be maintained around the works.
Cycles to follow vehicle diversion or dismount and follow pedestrian diversion around the works.
