What is happening?

SHROPSHIRE COUNCIL
TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER/S - PUBLIC NOTICES OF INTENTION


NOTICE is hereby given that Shropshire Council (“the Council”) intend, not less than 7 days from the date of this Notice, to make an Order/s under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984 (as amended), the effect of which is to restrict the use of road/s as
stated below. The Order/s for restriction is/are required for the purpose/s as stated below. There are exceptions in the Order/s to permit pedestrian access (and/or vehicular access at the discretion of the Council or Statutory Undertaker) to any land or premises having a frontage to the said highway affected where there is no other form of access, and to any access allowing the necessary works to be undertaken. Access will be maintained for cyclists, pedestrians and dismounted horse riders unless stated below. The alternative route/s for those affected by the proposal/s is/are as stated below.
It is intended that the proposed restriction/s will come into force on the 2nd February 2026 and will continue in force for a period not exceeding eighteen months (unless extended upon the direction of the Secretary of State) or until any said works which it is proposed to be carried out have been completed, whichever is the earlier. However, it is expected the Order will only be operative for the duration as stated in below.
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Astley Lane, Astley
Date & Duration: 4th February 2026 for 1 day
Purpose: Road Closure - Severn Trent Water, replace defective manhole frame and cover.

Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using B5067, Newtown,
Baschurch
Date & Duration: 8th February 2026 between 09:30 to 15:30
Purpose: Road Closure - Repair/replace defective frame and cover.

Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Beatrice Street, Oswestry
Date & Duration: 4th February 2026 from 20:00 to Midnight
Purpose: Road Closure - Maintenance of HWM Logger

Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Brookside, Pontesbury
Date & Duration: 2nd February 2026 for 5 days
Purpose: Road Closure - Drainage works for new builds located off Brookside.

Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Chestnut Road, Market
Drayton
Date & Duration: 5th February 2026 for 3 days
Purpose: Road Closure - New Water connection

Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Haywood Lane, off A529 to Cheswardine
Date & Duration: 2nd February 2026 for 1 day between 08:00 to 17:00
Purpose: Road Closure - MJ Quinn to Replace Pole

Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Little Lyth road, Little Lyth
Date & Duration: 5th February 2026 for 1 day
Purpose: Road Closure - BT, road closure required to allow safe working area whilst telegraph pole is replaced.

Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Little Lyth road at Junction with A49 near Bayston Hill
Date & Duration: 2nd February 2026 for 61 week nights between 20:00 to 06:00
Purpose: Additional traffic management in association with works being carried out
by National Highways on A49 at Bayston Hill village

Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Marsh Lane, Sherrifhales
Date & Duration: 2nd February 2026 for 1 day
Purpose: Road Closure-Openreach-Replace pole

Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Merry Lane, Yorton Heath
Date & Duration: 2nd February 2026 for 33 days
Purpose: Road Closure - Pre and Post Rail Bridge survey, along with installation of a new large diameter watermain with strategic fittings.

Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Nobold, Baschurch
Date & Duration: 2nd February 2026 for 5 days
Purpose: Road Closure - Trial holes ahead of future scheme

Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Offoxey Road Tong Norton
Date & Duration: 2nd February 2026 for 1 day
Purpose: Road Closure-Severn Trent Water-Replace defective cover and frame

Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Coed Y Go snd Trefonen Road, Oswestry
Date & Duration: 2nd February 2026 for 54 days
Purpose: Road Closure to enable a capital drainage highways scheme

Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed Road south of Habberley

Date & Duration: 2nd February 2026 for 5 days
Purpose: Road Closure to enable removal of multiple trees

Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Church Road, Dorrington to Betchcott
Date & Duration: 2nd February 2026 for 11 days between 07:00 to 17:00 Weekdays
Purpose: Capital Resurfacing Scheme.

Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Knights Way, Shrewsbury
Date & Duration: 2nd February 2026 for 6 nights between 19:00 to 06:00
Purpose: Capital Resurfacing Scheme

Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Vanguard Way, Shrewsbury

Purpose: Capital resurfacing Scheme

Date & Duration: 2nd February 2026 for 2 days between 09:00 to 16:00
Purpose: Road Closure-Severn Trent Water-Cut back misaligned joint and install
3m 225mm patch to seal

Date & Duration: 2nd February 2026 for 1 day
Purpose: Road Closure-Openreach-Replace pole
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed Road Between The A49 And Stapleton & Unnamed Road Between The A49 and Great Ruyton
Date & Duration: 8th February 2026 for 1 day
Purpose: Road Closure - BT, traffic management required on conjunction with
works taking place on the A49 to replace a new pole.

Date & Duration: 8th February 2026 for 1 day
Purpose: Road Closure-Openreach-Replace pole

Purpose: Road Closure - Access joint box for cabling works.
