Hewett Road And Kensington Road - Waiting Restrictions
What is happening?
THE PORTSMOUTH CITY COUNCIL (HEWETT ROAD AND KENSINGTON ROAD)
(WAITING RESTRICTIONS) ORDER 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Portsmouth City Council proposes to make the following Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984: The Portsmouth City Council (Hewett Road and Kensington Road) (Waiting Restrictions) Order 2025
1. The effect of the Order would be:
a) To extend the existing "No Waiting at any Time" restrictions (Double Yellow Lines) on Hewett Road, both the south side and the north side to a total length of 10 metres on each side, westwards from the junction with Kensington Road; and on Kensington Road, on the west side, to 10 metres north and 10 metres south from the junction with Hewett Road
b) To relocate the existing disabled bay on Kensington Road, (alongside house No.137) for a further 8 metres north from the junction with Hewett Road.
c) To extend the "No Waiting at any Time" restrictions (Double Yellow Lines) on Ernest Road, both sides, north and south of the junction with George street to a total length of 10 meters
d) To extend the "No Waiting at any Time" restrictions (Double Yellow Lines) on George Street, both sides, east and west of the junction with Ernest Road to a total length of 10 meters

3. Persons wishing to object to these proposals must do so by sending their representations to
or by post to the TRO Team, Portsmouth City Council, Civic Offices, Portsmouth PO1 2NE, quoting ref P040-25 within 21 days of the date of this Notice (i.e. by 13.02.2026) stating the grounds for the objection.
4. Under requirements of current access to information legislation, please note that all representations submitted in response to this Notice, including the name and address of the person submitting it, may be made available for public inspection.
